एसटीपी की ओर से न तो जुर्माना दिया, नहीं ही दूषित पानी रूकाNGT: दिल्ली जयपुर हाईवे स्थित मसानी झील में धडल्ले से एसटीपी से दूषित छोडा जा रहा है। केंद्रीय प्रदूषण नियंत्रण बोर्ड को एसटीपी की रिपोर्ट देने पर एनजीटी ने सभी एटीपी प्रभारियोंं को जमकर फटकार लगाई तथा 11 नवंबर तक रिपोर्ट पेश करने की चेतावनी दी है।सैंपल मिले थे फेल: बता दे कि साहबी में छोडे जा रहे पानी को लेकर अप्रैल 2023 में नेशनल ग्रीन ट्रिब्यूनल कोर्ट ने एडीसी के नेतृत्व में 5 सदस्यीय कमेटी बनाई गई थी। कमेटी की ओर जब ट्यूबवेल के पानी के सैंपल लेने पहुंची थी। जो सारे सैंफल फैल मिले थे।एसटीपी पर लगाया था जुर्माना: क्षेत्रीय अधिकारी ने राष्ट्रीय हरित अधिकरण को एक रिपोर्ट सौंपी थी। रिपोर्ट के अनुसार नियमों का पालन न करने के कारण पिछले साल एसटीपी पर कुल 3 करोड़ रुपये से अधिक का पर्यावरण मुआवजा लगाया गया।जिसके चलते 6.5 एमएलडी कालूवास रोड स्थित एसटीपी पर 56.20 लाख रुपये, 16 एमएलडी नसियाजी रोड स्थित एसटीपी पर 64.60 लाख रुपये, खरखड़ा गांव (धारूहेड़ा) के एसटीपी पर 65.10 लाख रुपये तथा 3 एमएलडी खेड़ा मुरार रोड (बावल) के लिए एसटीपी पर 63.70 लाख रुपये का पर्यावरण मुआवजा लगाया गया था।सुनवाई में लगाई फटकार: एनजीटी बेंच की सुनवाई में इस पर कोर्ट ने आदेश दिए हैं कि वर्तमान स्थिति से अवगत करवाया जाए ताकि पता चल सके आखिर एसटीपी प्लांट नियमों का पालन कर रहे हैं या नहीं। क्या उनका पानी ट्रीट किया भी जा रहा है या नही। केंद्रीय प्रदूषण नियंत्रण बोर्ड को इन एसटीपी की जांच करके रिपोर्ट पेश तो बडा खुलासा हुआ। सारे ही एसटीपी बिना ट्रीट किए पानी को छोड रहे है।

BJP slams Kejriwal over ‘missing’ items in CM House
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) attacked former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal over a purported inventory list of the Public Works Department (PWD), which reported that some newly added fixtures to the CM House, which costs several lakhs, has been “missing” since Mr. Kejriwal vacated the bungalow on 6, Flagstaff Road. The cost of one such toilet seat ranges between ₹10 to 12 lakh. Accusing Mr. Kejriwal of “taking them along with him”, , BJP spokesperson Sambit Patra demanded that he should return them so that people could see how many crores of public money were spent for his comfort. He further added, Mr. Kejriwal had earlier claimed that he would not enjoy any perks but the inventory list painted a different picture. AAP did not respond to the allegations.

Demolition of unauthorised mosque floors begins in Shimla after commissioner orders
CHANDIGARH: The demolition of the unauthorised floors of the mosque in the Sanjauli area of Shimla in Himachal Pradesh began on Monday. After receiving the municipal commissioner’s orders on October 16, the Sanjauli Mosque committee sought permission to demolish the unauthorised floors from the Himachal Pradesh Waqf Board. Muhammad Latif, president of Sanjauli Mosque Committee said that the committee has got the no objection certificate from the Himachal Pradesh Waqf Board to demolish the unauthorised floors of the mosque as they had written to the waqf board for the same after they got the orders from Shimla Municipal Commissioner. He said that they have told this to the district administration, Superintendent of Police and Municipal Corporation of Shimla. "On September 12, a delegation from the committee had submitted a representation offering to demolish the unauthorised floors voluntarily,’’ Latif said.

Countering the remarks of former Chief Minister and AIADMK leader Edappadi K. Palaniswami that cracks in the DMK-led alliance may widen soon, Law Minister S. Regupathy on Monday said Mr. Palaniswami cannot “break, burn or crush” the alliance. Stalin would not suffer even a small damage, Mr. Regupathy told reporters at Pudukottai that Mr. Palaniswami was only “daydreaming” that the DMK-led front would break as he had “no other work”. However, Mr. Regupathy said the people of Tamil Nadu wanted Mr.Ravi to be replaced. The ‘Tamil Thai Vaazhthu’ was accepted by the people of Tamil Nadu and sung by all. Parties like the DMK, AIADMK, Desiya Murpokku Dravida Kazhagam and Marumalarchi Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam are all Dravidian-based parties.

US envoy Amos Hochstein to hold ceasefire talks with Lebanese officials, sources say
U.S. envoy Amos Hochstein will be in Beirut on Monday for talks with Lebanese officials on conditions for a ceasefire between Israel and Lebanese armed group Hezbollah, two sources in Lebanon told Reuters, as Israel expanded its air campaign on the group’s assets overnight. ADVERTISEMENTIsrael has reportedly given the United States a document with its conditions for a diplomatic solution to end the war in Lebanon, Axios reported on Sunday, citing two U.S. officials and two Israeli officials. Israel also demanded its air force have freedom of operation in Lebanese air space, the report added. Over the last year, Lebanese officials estimate that more than 2,400 people have been killed and more than 1.2 million people displaced in Lebanon. Fifty-nine people have been killed in northern Israel and the occupied Golan Heights over the same period, say Israeli authorities.

Former Andhra Pradesh Minister’s son arrested in Madurai in T.N.
Pinipe Srikanth, son of former Andhra Pradesh Minister Pinipe Viswarup, was arrested in Madurai district of Tamil Nadu by a team of police personnel from Andhra Pradesh in connection with a murder case in Konaseema district in the neighbouring State. The Madurai district police said the team from Amalapuram police station had been following Srikanth, who had been absconding, in connection with the murder case registered in 2022. They tracked him down in Tamil Nadu. On Sunday (October 20, 2024), as he was travelling in an SUV, the team intercepted him near Eliyarpathi toll gate on Thoothukudi Road and arrested him at around 10 p.m. He will be taken to Andhra Pradesh for interrogation, the police said.

This is the first instance of an English Wikipedia article being taken down by the foundation in the encyclopedia’s history.
