Ghana has recorded 128 positive cases of COVID-19 this September, 273 in August and 500 in July, this year. The GHS said as of September 23, 2021, there were 3,578 active cases, 1,147 deaths, 122,000 recoveries and 126,803 cumulative positive cases after 1.7 million tests. Dr Kuma-Aboagye said the country had received nearly five million doses of the AstraZeneca Covishield from India, 21,000 doses of Sputnik V, 450,000 doses of Johnson & Johnson, and 1.2 million of Moderna vaccines. Achieving herd immunity againstthe Covid-19 had been government’s primary goal to halt the spread of the disease, he said.

Mrs. Appiah-Kubi said it was important to take breakfast in the morning between 0700 hours and 1000 hours. Breakfast must not be taken anytime one feels like having it since gives strength and boosts the immune system. She said denying to eat appropriately was not a healthy form to reduce weight and urged people who think they are obese to consult health practitioners for the proper method to reduce weight if the need be. “If you eat late in the evening one must wait for about three hours before going to bed to enable the food to digest, she advised.

Mr Acheampong said the project was being constructed in phases and that the method of designing and construction of a regional hospital took some time. He said this when Mr Kojo Oppong-Nkrumah, Information Minister, met with journalists in the region in Koforidua as part of a duty tour. He called on the media to seek information on all government projects to enable them to inform the public adequately. The information minister said the government's intention was to put the economy on the right path for sustainable development after the huge damage caused by the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.

According to a report by dailyguidenetwork.com, the statement signed by the Director of Public Affairs at the Ministry, Worwornyo Agyeman, explained that the ban however does not affect lawful recruitments into those countries. “The ban does not affect the lawful recruitment of skilled workers (non-domestic househelp) to the Gulf States,” the statement said in part. The ban, announced through the Ministry of Employment and Labour Relations and on behalf of the government was part of measures to curb the abuses. Also, the report said that these women were mostly sexually molested and were meted very inhumane treatments.

While with the BBC World Service in 1965, Mike hosted the programme, Music with African Beat, for four years. Leaving the BBC, Eghan returned home to work with GBC, wanting to contribute to the development of Ghana. Now 85-years-old, Mike Eghan has also won several awards, including the Grand Medal Civil Division, for his meritorious service in the media.

The promise made in August was one of the highlights of President Akufo-Addo’s visit to the European country. Chancellor Merkel, who leaves office after Sunday’s elections following over 15 years of reign as Germany’s head of government, pledged over 70 million vaccines to African nations. Only a few have received Russian-made Sputnik-V and South African-made Johnson & Johnson vaccines. The country has in store Moderna vaccines from the US and was recently promised 1.3 million Pfizer vaccines by US Vice President Kamala Harris.

Prof Kofi Agyekum noted that it is shameful how over time, literacy has been associated with only the English language. He further asserted that it was important for leaders to be abreast with primarily, their own language and if possible, other Ghanaian languages. “So, if you’re a CEO, you know only English, you don’t know your language which is Nzema; neither do you know the Nzema culture. “That’s why it is ideal for everybody to know his or her own language or some of the Ghanaian languages. As for the English, if you go to school you’ll learn,” Opanyin Agyekum added.
