Robbers kill police in bullion van at Korle-Bu, driver seriously injured
Videos posted on social media show the policeman's lifeless body dripping with blood after the attackers had bolted making away with the officer's gun. According to eye witnesses, whereas the two victims died on the spot, the bullion van driver, who sustained injuries was rushed to the Korle-Bu Teaching hospital. In a tweet sighted by GhanaWeb on this developing story, a tweep reported that there's been "an attack on bullion van initiated by 4 motorbikes around the Bukom boxing Arena area. The policeman in the van shot dead, and his gun stolen by the robbers... The bodies of the deceased have been taken to the Police Hospital for preservation and autopsy.

Two kidnapped Fulani herdsmen rescued by police in Savannah region

Govt must step in to address ENI and Springfield misunderstandings - Oil Expert
Speaking in an interview with GhanaWeb’s Amos Ekow Coffie, Dr Sulemana said the government must step in to help integrate the two companies to come to an amicable understanding since the international community is monitoring the ongoing situation. “Bear in mind that we have other players who are closely monitoring and government should try and be a referee in this case. His calls come on the back of the failure of ENI and Springfield exploration and production; to unitize the Afina and Sankofa field belonging to both companies. ENI said it has more stake in the exploration field than Springfield and that is one of the major causes of the delay in the unitization process. Dr Sulemana said the situation is delicate but a proper approach can be adopted to solve it.

Women are not legally obliged to adopt husband’s name - Legal expert
She made this statement on Joy News’ Sunday’s edition of The Law programme. Responding to a question raised by a contributor of the show on whether or not his wife’s decision not to take on his surname had legal repercussions. He explained that he told his wife to combine both names (i.e. his surname and her Surname) as a compound name but she has refused, sticking to her decision to maintain her maiden name. BoG right to decline parliament's invitation - Banking Consultant

So I believe the Bank of Ghana lawyers were only stating the fact of the law not to appear before parliament. That would have been one of the best things that would have happened to this country,” he said. “In England, they allowed the dust to settle and then appointed and selected a committee to look at what happened. It is not in the middle of the court issue that one is required by the Bank of England to respond to an invitation.
