The fight against galamsey, he opined is to protect water bodies, vegetation covers and other natural resources for sustainable development. He told the Central Regional Minister, Justina Marigold Assan during a tour to some mining sites in the region, “give us documents and legal backings to exercise our mandate to drive out illegal miners from our lands.”“We are killing ourselves day by day by the unscrupulous acts by galamseyers since our water is mixed with toxic metal and we drink it daily,” he added. Nana Boakye II averred that tracking illegal miners as it stands now is pretty difficult because they have documents covering their operations. He, therefore, advised the government to seek the consent of traditional authorities before granting concessions to mining companies. Nana Boakye II also charged Ghanaians to adhere to the environmental laws to restore the country's vegetation.

"Overall, the impact of the pandemic on the industry's performance seems moderate, as banks remained liquid, profitable and well-capitalized", Dr Aubynn stated. Meanwhile, total deposits recorded significant year-on-year growth, reflecting strong liquidity flows emanating from the COVID-19 fiscal stimulus package and payments to contractors by the government.

Amicable solution on unitization of ENI and Springfield to be reached soon – Kevin Okyere
“I think that Eni and Springfield will find an amicable solution so that it just benefits all stakeholders…” he said. Speaking on an Accra-based radio station Asaase radio, Mr Okyere said, the issue is delicate but believes the two companies will soon come to an understanding. He explained that the unitization process started in 2018. Meanwhile, under this order, the license led by Springfield will have a 54.5% stake in the area and Eni’s license 45.5%. The Ministry of Energy has ordered that this unitized area would be in effect from when production started.

We have many goalkeepers who do well but I think when it comes to functional goalkeepers these three readily come to mind,” he said. Leave social media, come and plant trees – Oti Regional Minister to #FixTheCountry campaigners
During the official launch of the project on Friday, June 11, the minister said the campaigners should do away with social media and be part of the Green Ghana project, a way to fix the deteriorating environment. Environmental degradation remains one of the major issues in Ghana, hence, the need for all, including the FixTheCountry protesters in the region to plant trees to save lives, he stated. He asserted that “a way we can all contribute in our little way to fix the problem of environmental degradation. The Ministry of Health in their defense have explained that the vaccines had to be procured through middlemen since they could not be accessed directly from the manufacturer. “He should know that Ghanaians are very vigilant; so this one, I think the Health Minister has been too sloppy and the least the President can do is to sack him.
