According to him, goalkeepers are regarded as smart people who must be able to interpret a situation and act accordingly. “Goalkeepers are human beings they have their low points and high points but you are not allowed to make fundamental mistakes," Abukari Damba told Ghanaweb’s Perez Ezoah-Kwaw.

Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa on his Facebook timeline hinted that the President in his recent trip abroad hired a private jet for £15,000 per hour. He indicated that per his calculation, President Akufo-Addo spent about GH¢2.8 million on the trip instead of using the presidential jet. Ablakwa subsequently filed questions in parliament on the issue which has been admitted by the Speaker. It costs the Ghanaian taxpayer approximately £15,000 an hour when President Akufo-Addo rents it. The business statement of Parliament clearly spells out the planned business of parliament.

Mr Arthur made the call at a forum on opportunities for the youth, organised by Yefi Ghana and funded by Oxfam in Ghana, in Tamale. Mr Alhassan Abdul-Ganiyu, Technical Advisor for Youth, Advocacy and Gender at Yefi Ghana, appealed to policymakers to involve the youth and vulnerable groups in formulating policies that would benefit them to improve their wellbeing. He noted that the government and other stakeholders needed to target the vulnerable and the youth groups to address issues confronting them.

This follows the obvious disregard for safety protocols at Sir John’s funeral which was held about two weeks ago. Speaking in an interview on Citi News which was monitored by GhanaWeb, Dr Nsiah-Asare said most people who attended the funeral were in face masks so he believes no harm was caused. It’s unfortunate, but we are also watching and studying the situation to see that there is no adverse effects. This was after videos from the funeral which went viral, showed more than the directed 100 persons for funerals in attendance. Many attendees captured in videos were not in masks.

This announcement comes even after the National Labour Commission (NLC) asked the association to suspend the strike action and appear before it on Wednesday, June 16. TUTAG first announced the partial strike of Friday, June 11 asking its members not to teach, invigilate, mark examination papers, submit results and attend meetings of the Technical Universities. Dubbed "We-Matter Project” the 33-month project is being financed by Ghana Somubi Dwumadie (Ghana Participation Programme), a four-year disability programme, with a specific focus on mental health at a cost of GHC1.65 million. She said it would also help increase the use of positive disability and mental health language in the two regions and improve enforcement of Ghana's Disability and Mental health policies and laws by duty-bearers. He said societal barriers were major factors militating against the progress of PWDs, including people with mental health conditions, therefore, there was the need for behavioural change. Mr Krakani called on all and sundry to support the project to help address stigma and discrimination against PWDs, including people with mental health conditions and also promote their rights. However, he said, the issue of negative attitude, stigma and discrimination against PWDs including people with mental health conditions persisted, thus the need for stringent measures to curb it.

Meanwhile, passengers who arrive at KIA are subjected to a mandatory COVID-19 test. According to the former Deputy Minister of Health, 308 of those passengers tested positive in April 2021 alone. "Another thing that helped us is the net at the airport which caught a lot of the positive cases...308 plus positive cases were reported at the airport in April alone.
