Ashantigold and Inter Allies were suspected to have played a match of convenience on matchday 34 in the just ended 2020/2021 Ghana Premier League. The Prosecutor of the GFA has charged several officials and players in connection with this game and the latest is that ten players of Ashantigold have been charged. “The GFA Prosecutor has charged ten players of Ashantigold SC for violating Article 34(5)(a) of the GFA Premier League Regulations. “The players who have been served with the charge sheets include, Amos Addai, Amos Kofi Nkrumah, DaCosta Empem, Emmanuel Owusu, Frank Akoto, and Mohammed Bailou. “They are all expected to submit their Statements of Defence to the charges on or before Monday, September 27 after which the GFA Disciplinary Committee will adjudicate their cases respectively,” the GFA’s statement ended.

The pupils, 25 each, were drawn from the Jenini District Assembly (D/A) Primary in Jaman North and the Nhwenne D/A Primary in the Asunafo South to benefit from that GNAT’s generosity this year. She said the Association had been making the presentation annually to help reduce the challenge of inadequate education materials confronting pupils in the rural communities and also to encourage beneficiaries to go to school regularly. Ms. Larsen disclosed as part of the launch, the Association would again present 50 dual-desks and teachers’ tables and chairs to a D/A Primary School at Old Nkomi, an Island community in the Sene East District of Bono East Region. She urged Ghanaians to continue to support teachers to be able to deliver on their mandate to build a better future for Ghanaian children.

The road connecting the two communities is currently engulfed with deep potholes and with some sections washed away by rains. The residents complained that parts of the road get submerged in water any time it rains, thereby hindering movement on the road. Speaking to GhanaWeb's Northern Regional Correspodent, Tahiru Mohammed Amin, a resident of Nantong Kpawumo, explained that they are always trapped in their homes any time it rains. He, therefore, called on authorities to come to their aid by fixing the road for them.

A new account has emerged explaining the exact cause of the cancer – a bullet pellet lodged in the spine. According to the head of security in charge of operations at the presidency during Nkrumah’s era, Ghana’s first president got cancer as a result of a bullet lodged in his spine. “And you know grenades are poisonous, when it enters your body and is never removed, it brings in cancer, so Nkrumah died of cancer of the skin,” he added. One of the often-mentioned incidents is the Kulungugu bombing, in the then Upper Region in August 1962. 21st September is a day set aside to remember and honour Nkrumah and is observed as a public holiday.

According to deepthroat sources, nearly seven of the Tubular Gel VRLA batteries and four solar panels have gone missing. For the systems the thieves could not cut open, the batteries were spared, our sources added. Our sources noted that the high quality and expensive nature of the solar batteries could also be the reason thieves have targeted the installations. The theft cases have put the work of Mechatronic PLC - the subcontractor installing the water systems in jeopardy.
