Several posts and comments made on the video across social media have many sharing sentiments about the growing level of gun-related crimes in the country. In this discussion on social media, the Ghana Police Service have been tagged in several of the commentaries. The driver of the vehicle also sustained various injuries and has since been on admission at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital. The robbers reportedly numbering about 8 and on motorbikes made away with the AK-47 rifle of the deceased police officer.

In all, two double 1.2-meter culverts, 1.2-meter single culvert, 1.2-metre 6/16 culvert and a 0.9-metre single culvert, have been constructed. The completion of the project has come with great relief for residents and road users especially with the onset of the rains. The age-long challenge did not only put the lives of road users at risk but also affected their socio-economic activities. Residents however appealed to the government to quicken efforts in the construction of the road to complement the culvert.

Being alarmed, a search party made up of some young men in the community later in the day went to the cocoa farm of the deceased to look for him. His lifeless body was found by the group under one of the cocoa trees lying in a supine position. According to the search party, there were indications on the body of the deceased suggesting he had been shot by an unknown assailant. According to the Assemblyman, the deceased in recent times had been involved in litigation with the said sister over the very farmland where his lifeless body was discovered. The death of Abusuapanyin Pharoah who is said to have left behind two wives and a number of children is said to have thrown the entire community into a state of shock.

Kennedy Agyapong in an interview with a US-based Ghanaian radio station said President Akufo-Addo has been ‘slow’ in dealing with corruption cases. The Assin Central MP said that the judicial system has become an impediment to President Akufo-Addo’s ability to effectively deal with corruption. “He’s been very slow because the court system does not help him and he has not done anything about it. The way people expected him to fight corruption, the court system has frustrated him and he has done nothing about it so he has been very slow. President Akufo-Addo is however likely not to agree with Kennedy Agyapong as he has in the past expressed satisfaction with the efforts by his government to fight corruption.

The robbers also killed a civilian in the process with one other person - the driver of the van - sustaining serious wounds. The bullion van which had registration number GT-8592 is owned by Mon-tran company and was being driven by a staff of the company. Eric Okyere, another witness is reported to have sustained wounds is currently at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital receiving help. Initial investigations revealed that the robbers used AK-47 riffles. The Inspector General of Police has meanwhile warned that police officers will not be deployed to protect bullion vans until banks used armored vehicles for such activities.

Benedicta who was shot by the attackers was rushed to the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital for treatment but was declared dead later. In the video, Nana Prempeh who is reported to be a personal driver of Senior NPP Member, Dr Kofi Kodua (KK) Sarpong is seen flaunting bundles and wads of dollars. In his narration of the attack leading to the death of his wife, Nana Prempeh explained that he was driving in a different car behind his wife when the attackers crossed and shot at her. According to the bereaved, his wife was at the time driving in his white Range Rover with a customized number plate. It is yet to be known whether Nana Prempeh was the intended target of the attack.
