Sputnik V: Scarcity makes suppliers dictate prices, it's basic O-level economics – Health Minister
This development has made the Minority in Parliament call for the abrogation of the contract as well as the dismissal of the Minister. “Basic economics will tell you that in terms of scarcity the market is the suppliers’ market. I am surprised… we all learnt these things at O-level so why should I be a subject of ridicule?” he asked. The newspaper alleges that Ghana is buying the Sputnik V COVID-19 vaccine produced in Russia for $19 per dose from businessmen instead of $10. According to the report published on www.vg.no, government signed the purchase contract for 3.4 million doses of the vaccine.

Open defecation engulfs Sarfo township; residents threaten demo against Assembly
They are therefore calling on authorities to immediately come to their aid, so as to alleviate the suffering of the people. According to the residents, the lack of toilet facilities in the area compels them to attend to nature’s call in the bushes, black polythene bags and other open places. They also complained about other headaches such as the lack of health centers and bad roads. “We lack roads, health centers and people defecate about anyhow due to lack of toilet facilities. These are causing other problems for the community”, a residents lamented.

Family of Miracle JHS girl requests for second autopsy
According to the family, they are not satisfied with the outcome of the autopsy report from the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital so they will be seeking a second opinion. A family source who spoke to GhanaWeb on condition of strict anonymity disclosed that they have resolved to pursue that option because they are not satisfied with the outcome. The source revealed that the decision by the family has been conveyed to the police and they are on standby for the second autopsy. The Bono Regional Crime Officer of the Ghana Police Service, Superintendent Kennedy Adusei, has confirmed the second autopsy request by the family but says it is within their rights to do so. “The family has indicated that they want a second autopsy, something within their rights so we are waiting for them to bring their own pathologist then we can go ahead."

Invigilators help students cheat in exams hall - Africa Education Watch report
Executive Director of Africa Education Watch, Kofi Asare while making a presentation on the report said these invigilators connived with the policemen at various centres to carry out the unlawful act. He stated that these invigilators dictate answers to students from a mobile phone, citing a maths teacher at the Kade SHTS named Evans Yeboah as an example. Mr Asare furthered that 9 WAEC officials were also arrested at Christ Ambassador school at Dansoman during the 2020 West African Senior School Certificate Examination. "In another incident, the media also reported nine (9) WAEC supervisors and a dispatcher who were arrested for their roles in leaking question papers. He, therefore, called on the Ministry of Education to beyond the usual interdiction of offenders and prosecute them.

It's senseless to politicize security issues – Kweku Baako slams politicians

Most of the MPs who absented themselves for more than 15 times, out of the 50 sittings were Ministers and Deputy Ministers.

Enact laws to protect 'Green Ghana' trees – Salifu Amoako tasks govt
It is estimated that five million trees were planted in various parts of the country on June 11, 2021 as part of Green Ghana Project.
