But the opening five games of the season suggest that, six months after the Sixers knocked the Raptors out of the playoffs, the two teams are heading in very different directions.

But when it’s late October and all you have played is eight games, that’s where Dallas is at right now. In the last seven years, DeBoer has taken two teams — San Jose and Vegas — to the conference finals four times. Transfer that success to the normal experience and the Stars would have played 11 home playoff games in that run. Dallas has allowed 15 goals in eight games, making it the NHL’s only club under two goals surrendered per game. Are the Blues, losers of three in a row, taking a downturn after losing too many key players in free agency from their 2019 Cup team?

Auditor general says $500M in overpayments to civil servants needs to be collectedOTTAWA — Up to a quarter of federal government employees are still experiencing problems with their pay because of the troubled Phoenix pay system, and the government might be running out of time to collect on overpayments. A new report from Canada's auditor general says 28 per cent of civil servants in its sampling had errors in their pay, which is down from an estimated 47 per cent last year. Meanwhile, more than $500 million in overpayments were made to more than 100,000 employees, some dating back more than three years. If the government doesn't collect those overpayments soon, the auditor said, it may run out of time to use some recovery mechanisms because of legal limitations. In the previous fiscal year, the federal government paid $400 million in damages to 324,346 individuals.
