If I were Sheldon Keefe, I would definitely drop a comment that the Tampa Bay Lightning didn’t have to play particularly hard to beat the Maple Leafs last night. It’s hard not to look at this game as the Leafs beating themselves, as they have done many times in the past. The Leafs showed signs of life late in the game, rallying to force momentum back to their side in the closing moments of the game. Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Shahbaz Gill has said that his party wanted to establish cordial ties with the United States on equal footing, adding that they did not want confrontation with any state. “US is a superpower and we want friendship with it… don’t want to raise slogans against any country,” said Gill while addressing a press conference in Islamabad on Wednesday. Gill said under the country’s first NSP it was decided that Pakistan would not strain its ties with any country “by sitting in the lap of any superpower”. He said that the former PM’s visit to Moscow was suggested by all stakeholders and the aim of the historic visit was to boost economic ties with Russia. In the letters, Imran declared that the summary contained proof that the vote of no-confidence (VNC) – which saw him ousted on April 9 – was part of a “foreign-funded conspiracy”.

Oil prices rose at the start of Asian trade on Wednesday after industry data showed drawdowns in U.S. crude and fuel stockpiles, raising supply concerns and offsetting worries about slowing demand from top importer China. Brent crude futures rose 89 cents, or 0.9%, to $105.86 a barrel by 0223 GMT. West Texas Intermediate crude futures rose 97 cents, or 1%, to $103.38 a barrel. Former prime minister and PTI chairman Imran Khan has accused the chief election commissioner of being biased, saying that the Supreme Court should take action against ‘horse-trading’. “ECP did not take any action against Yousuf Raza Gillani… and we don’t have high expectations that it would do anything fair,” he remarked. Imran said he believed if the apex court did not take action against ‘horse-trading’ then it would put the country’s future at stake. Last week, CEC Sikandar Sultan Raja had said that facts about the Yousaf Raza Gillani case were not presented properly. Need you be reminded that the IMF has heavily stressed on an autonomous central bank, making it imperative for its program. In the past when the Central Bank wasn’t legally autonomous, it mattered who led the central bank, especially if you were in government. The longest serving governor was Aftab Ghulam Nabi Kazi who served the SBP for 7 years and 359 days while Zia ul Haq was president. The President of Pakistan appoints the SBP governor for a three-year term, subject to a 65-year age limit. However he should only continue if you can continue as an autonomous governor, to protect his reputation.

I think it goes without saying that Game 1 didn’t exactly go as hoped, but what I didn’t necessarily expect was the number of people that are ready to throw in the towel already. MIKE SMITHLet’s just get this out of the way: Mike Smith made a horrible mistake at the end of the game that directly resulted in the game-winning goal. Even though some of us wonder if Mikko Koskinen should get Game 2, I highly doubt Woodcroft will sit Smith even with that mistake lingering like a fart in an elevator. BONUS EPISODE OF BETTER LAIT THAN NEVERLast night sucked, so I figured we should talk about it. Do you think you can put together the ultimate playoff bracket?
