Girl’s body found stuffed in bag
The body of an unidentified girl was found stuffed in a bag in Karachi’s Bin Qasim Town, according to the police. They said the body was found within the remits of Bin Qasim PS and was shifted to the hospital for medico-legal formalities. Her identity is yet not clear. The body of the girl is said to be two days old.

Govt decides to bring Farah Khan back for interrogation

Economy to face further pressure
Photo: filePakistan’s economy and capital markets are expected to face mounting pressure when the country returns to work from Eid holidays on Friday in the wake of an aggressive hike in the benchmark interest rate by the US Fed and a rebound in international oil prices during the long break. The US central bank, Federal Reserve, has increased its benchmark interest rate by half a percentage point, which is the biggest hike in two decades in the history of America. The latest trade data suggests that Pakistan’s oil import bill has continued to rise due to persistent increase in global energy prices. “The surge in global energy prices (during Eid holidays) will further widen the energy import bill for Pakistan,” he said. Earlier, the SBP increased the benchmark interest rate by a massive 250 basis points to a two-year high at 12.25% in an emergency meeting on April 7.

On the surface, the news showcases a nation in chaos, where no news is good news. In the case of Dua Zehra, the parents had not been sending this 14-year-old to school but they did allow between five to seven hours of gaming every day. Education is a basic right granted to Dua Zehra by the constitution of Pakistan. The entire discourse on the Dua Zehra case is instead focused on how dare a teenager rebel against parental authority?

We all must press upon implementation of ‘Article 63A of the Constitution i.e. The Legal Framework Order of 2002 provided for a robust Article 63A. It was in such background that the said legislation (Article 63A) was passed” [PLD 1998 S.C 1263 p. 1314]. To suppress such mischief, the members of Parliament imposed upon themselves the restrictions, as enumerated in Article 63A of the Constitution. Also, the constitutionally aware citizen seeks implementation of Article 63A of the constitution by the Honourable Supreme Court.

"The situation of the Punjab Assembly in the recent past has turned into a major constitutional crisis," Cheema maintained. On the directions of the LHC, the contest for the chief minister’s slot was held on April 16. On April 29, LHC judge Jawad Hassan had directed the NA speaker to administer oath to Hamza the next day to put an end to the crisis in Punjab. The second time, the LHC chief justice had advised the Punjab governor to ensure the swearing-in of Hamza, but the constitutional obligation was not followed. The PML-N leader for the third time knocked the LHC doors over not being administered his oath.

Random Thoughts: Game 2 Domination
Sure, things didn’t go the way we wanted in Game 1 but I just felt it in my bones that last night was going to be different. MIKE SMITHAfter the way Game 1 ended, I don’t think anyone on the ice had more pressure on their shoulders heading into the rematch than Mike Smith. Put another way, if you can’t even hear yourself think when you’re at an Oilers game then you know the fanbase meant business and last night was no different. And that’s why I was so excited about getting the chance to be there for Game 2. I don’t care what anybody says, there is nothing quite like being at a playoff game in Edmonton.
