CTP issue fine tickets to 39 tinted glasses vehicles
RAWALPINDI - On the special orders of DIG Traffic Punjab Mirza Farhan Baig, City Traffic Police (CTP) has launched a crackdown against tinted glasses vehicles. According to a CTP spokesman, CTP also issued fine tickets to 39 tinted glasses vehicles. In this regard, Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Taimoor Khan has formed a special squad to take action against vehicles carrying black papers and issued special orders to all DSPs of circles to take strict and non-discriminatory action against such vehicles. Terming it a security risk fine tickets must be issued to tinted vehicles. The CTO pledged that the action would be conducted indiscriminately with zero tolerance for any kind of excuse.

Free and fair polls
The ECP argued that it was constitutionally bound to carry out delimitations, and would only hold elections afterwards. The PPP has noted that delimitations would not be very extensive, and thus need not take the poll beyond the 90-day limit. The moving forward of the election date is being taken with more nonchalance than it should. Apart from the delay, there is the question of whether the polls that will be held will be free and fair. In principle, the elections should be held in a level playing field, with no interference by outside forces, with parties free to select the candidates of their choice.

CTP finalises traffic movement plan for Asia Cup 2023
LAHORE - Lahore City Traffic Police have finalised foolproof traffic arrangements plan for the three ODI’s matches of the Asia Cup 2023 to the played in the provincial metropolis. Foolproof traffic arrangements have been made from the hotel to the Gaddafi Stadium and from the stadium to the hotel, CTO added. No road shall be permanently closed, Traffic will flow as normal on Mall Road, Jail Road, Canal Road, Ferozepur Road, Main Boulevard Gulberg Road. Mustansar Feroze said that according to the traffic plan, cricket fans coming from Mall Road, Jail Road, Canal Road will enter college main gate Ferozpur Road. CTO Lahore said that citizens will not have any traffic problem.

Entrepreneurship included in national single curriculum of Pakistan
LAHORE - Entrepreneurship’ has been included in the National Single Curriculum of Pakistan as a compulsory subject for grades 9-12 to develop the country as an enterprising nation. Small and Medium Enterprises Development Authority (SMEDA) Chief Executive Officer Farhan Aziz Khawaja disclosed this while addressing as keynote speaker at International See Pakistan Conference, organised by the Association of Private Sector Universities of Pakistan (APSUP) here at Lahore Expo Centre on Monday. He said that inclusion of entrepreneurship would help promote entrepreneurship culture in our society, right from the school level. In tandem, entrepreneurship is also being inculcated in our students through encouraging “sports entrepreneurship” on the lines of the professionally managed football leagues around the world.

IHC suspends Imran's sentence in Toshakhana case, orders release
The Islamabad High Court (IHC) suspended PTI Chairperson Imran Khan's sentence in the Toshakhana case on Tuesday and ordered his release. A day earlier, the counsel for the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP), the defendant in this case, concluded his arguments. Earlier hearingWhen the IHC bench resumed hearing the case on Monday, ECP’s counsel Amjad Pervaiz presented detailed arguments responding to the points raised by Imran’s lead counsel Latif Khosa. “This is a case of submitting false declarations of assets and liabilities and not a case of tax evasion,” he said. Applications sought for agri machinery on subsidy
LAHORE - The Punjab government has sought applications from farmers of all districts to provide them agricultural machinery and equipment on subsidy. A spokesman for the department said on Monday that farmers would get a subsidy up to 60 per cent and a maximum of Rs 500,000 on purchase of machinery. Regarding eligibility criteria, the spokesman said that a farmer should have a tractor of at least 50 horse power and he must own or be a tenant of 25 acres of land in the area of canal water and 50 acres of land in rain-fed area. He said, “Farmers are not allowed to sell or transfer machinery purchased under this project to any other person for 4 years.” Farmers have to get one-day training from Assistant Agriculture Engineering of their respective district or from Assistant Director Agriculture Engineering regarding operation of machinery, its look after and maintenance. Interested farmers could download application forms from field.agripunjab.gov.pk and submit till Sept 30.

First convoy
Pakistan and China have jointly initiated a novel trade route using the international road transport (TIR) mechanism to strengthen their bilateral trade ties. The inaugural ceremony marked the beginning of the route, with a convoy of five trucks departing from Kashgar. The National Logistics Corporation of Pakistan and China’s CEVA Logistics have entered into an agreement to facilitate trade operations under the United Nations International Road Transport Convention (TIR). The trade volume between China and Pakistan amounted to $12.06 billion in 2022.
