New Zealand man Christian Glass was shot dead by police in Colorado after he called for roadside assistance. Video / Clear Creek County Sheriff's OfficeThe parents of a Christchurch man killed by US police while suffering a mental health crisis say a government settlement proves their son wasn’t responsible for his death. Glass’ shooting drew US national attention and prompted calls to reform how authorities respond to people with mental health problems. Some cities, including Denver, have programmes where EMTs and mental health clinicians can be dispatched instead of police. The Reserve Bank (RBNZ) has changed its view on house prices and now sees a much smaller overall fall than it did in its last detailed set of forecasts in February. It then sees house prices starting to rise (slowly) again in the second half of next year. In the latest MPS the RBNZ said that house prices have fallen 15.3% since their peak in November 2021, measured in monthly terms. "However, there are early signs that house prices may not decrease as much as expected in the February Statement," the RBNZ said. "The fall in house prices to date is expected to flow through to lower household spending over the projection, as aggregate household wealth has fallen substantially."

The Reserve Bank has "had a good poke at the data" to check on the risks of a profit-price spiral, but doesn't see any evidence of one at a macro level, chief economist Paul Conway says. Conway has previously said; "we don't have great data on profits. "We have had a good poke at the data just to be up on the risks of a profit-price spiral. At the aggregate level we don't see any evidence of an increase in profits feeding into inflation. "I think of it as exactly symmetric, wage-price spiral, profit-price spiral.

The Right are manipulating the Prison and Crime narrative. They say the soft-on-crime-cuddle-a-crim Labour Party are fecklessly letting out 4000 prisoners while the crime rate soars. When the National Party tightened Prison policy they allowed for non violent offenders to apply for home detention while in prison. TDB Recommends NewzEngine.comOur prison system is damaging, it takes angry hurt men and turns them into angrier monsters. What is generating the current crime wave is the same thing that is generating crime waves throughout the post-covid Western World.
