The National Oil Corporation (NOC) says Akakus Oil Operations has exceeded its daily crude-oil production target, which had been set at 320,000 barrels. Actual output has reached about 796,325 barrels per day, the NOC said. The corporation attributed the rise to technical upgrades and projects aimed at boosting efficiency and maintaining production, despite limited resources and delayed budget releases. Work included linking ten new wells and launching a strategic project to divert surplus output from block I&R to the main separation facility at block NC-186, improving operational capacity while meeting safety standards. The NOC praised the company’s workforce and reaffirmed support for efforts to sustain and increase national production.

The Interior Ministry says it has deported a group of Bangladeshi nationals as part of its national programme to repatriate people in the country without legal status. The ministry said the deportations were carried out through Mitiga International Airport after the completion of legal procedures and coordination with relevant authorities. Officials said the programme aims to curb migrant flows through Libya, improve border control and support domestic security and stability. The ministry described the policy as part of a broader approach combining law enforcement, regulation of foreign residents and cooperation with countries of origin. Libya remains a major transit route for migrants attempting to reach Europe across the Mediterranean, making migration management one of the country’s most persistent challenges.

The Government of National Unity (GNU) has declared full support for the Supreme Court in a growing dispute with the House of Representatives, saying the independence of the judiciary must be protected. The government said judicial independence is “the cornerstone” of any democratic process, and called on parliament and all political actors to respect constitutional limits and avoid unilateral actions that could destabilise the country. It urged the UN mission and the wider international community to monitor developments and support the independence and structure of Libya’s judiciary. Earlier, the Supreme Court’s General Assembly criticised the parliamentary speaker, accusing him of undermining the judiciary and making unfounded allegations against the court’s president. The Assembly said the creation of a constitutional court is a constitutional matter, not one for the legislature, and rejected claims of divisions within the judicial system.
