The Ministry of Education has instructed the national curriculum centre to immediately begin preparations for printing school textbooks for the 2026–2027 academic year, in an effort to ensure books reach schools on time and avoid disruptions seen in previous years. The directive was issued during a technical meeting chaired by Deputy Minister for Educational Affairs Masouda Al-Aswad and attended by senior officials, including Deputy Minister for Monitoring Affairs Mohsen Al-Kabeer and the minister’s adviser Ahmed Shahat. Reports presented by inspection and education departments highlighted levels of discipline and organisation across schools. Officials acknowledged persistent challenges, particularly delays in textbook delivery, which they said had hindered teaching. Al-Aswad said moving quickly on textbook printing would help stabilise the school year from the outset.
