The lives lost cannot come back but atleast the live ones don't get entangled into something totally outrageous and unjustified. The water was previously not able to enter the library because of the blockage created by the glass door. The SUV owner is in no way responsible. But media seems to habe been taking the tone of incriminating the SUV owner.

Lifting the six-decade-old ‘ban’ on government employees taking part in the activities of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) is a retrograde step, making a mockery of Sardar Vallabhai’s vision of the role of civil services in IndiaToShri Rajiv GaubaCabinet SecretaryGovernment of IndiaI write this letter with a feeling of anguish and distress at a disturbing news report(://indianexpress.com/article/india/ban-govt-employees-in-rss-activities-removed-cong-bjp-9467790/) that the Department of Personnel (Government of India) abruptly lifted the six-decade-old “ban” on government employees taking part in the activities of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS). If what has been reported is factually correct, the said order makes a mockery of the vision of Sardar Vallabhai Patel, the architect of the civil services in India, of the role expected of civil services in the country. Now that the RSS has gained a strong presence in politics, does the latest order of the government represent the present political executive’s endeavour to extend such a presence among the country’s civil services also? To depart from the path of rectitude in either of these respects is to debase public service and to lower its dignity. Is the latest memo on civil servants a part of an orchestrated attempt of the political establishment today to politicise institutions one by one, systematically?

As we were checking out we overhead a couple of people in our still relatively rural and still very red county in the next line complaining about Vice President Harris and her exuberant laughter. “How can such a person be taken seriously?” seemed to be the basis of their conversation. Margaret Thatcher? Who wants dour Margaret Thatcher when you can have a joyful exuberant lady named after the mother goddess(Devi) of all deities in the Hindu pantheon? Is this some kind of an emerging new “talking point” or “attack line” from Republicans?

Russia's Wagner mercenary group said on Monday it had suffered severe losses, including a commander, during battles with separatist forces in northeast Mali last week. The West African nation, which has been actively fighting insurgent jihadist and separatist forces in its north for over a decade, turned to Wagner for support after a military junta came to power in 2020. From July 22 to 27, the Malian armed forces and fighters from Wagner's 13th Assault Squad "fought fierce battles" against a coalition of Tuareg separatist forces and jihadist militants, according to a statement from Razgruzka Vagnera, a Telegram channel linked to Wagner's leadership. A spokesman for the CSP-DPA alliance, a coalition including mainly Tuareg separatist forces, claimed victory over Mali's army and Wagner on Sunday. Mali's military leaders, who seized power in a coup, have made it a stated priority to retake the entire country from separatist and jihadist forces, particularly Kidal, a pro-independence bastion in the north.
