A bus was set on fire in Dhaka’s Gulistan on the final day of a 48-hour blockade called by the BNP and Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami as part of their antigovernment movement. The arsonists set fire to a Bikalpa Paribahan bus in front of the Bangabandhu Square Hall market in Gulistan around 2 pm on Monday. “Two firefighting units brought the flames under control,” said Lima Khan, control room officer of the fire service. No casualties were reported, she added. The fire service reported another arson attack on a truck near the Bangladesh Bank in Dhaka earlier in the day.

PABNA, Nov 6, 2023 (BSS) - A school student was killed and two others were injured in a collision between an engine-run three wheeler (Nosiman) and a motorcycle on the Ishwardi-Pabna highway in Baharpur mor area under Ishwardi upazila of the district today. The deceased was identified as Mitul Hossain, 15, son of Ismail Hossain, a resident of Athail Shimul village of the upazila. He was a 10th class student of Ishwardi Government Vocational Textile Institute. They were going to Ishwardi Government Vocational Textile Institute on a motorcycle. The injured were taken to Ishwardi Upazila Health Complex where on-duty doctor declared Mitul Hossain dead.
