Reversing the needle of the clock leads to the tales via which we understand how the societies once crumbled to the dust, rose not only from the ashes but also managed to become the epitome of resilience and change. What made their change possible was the socioeconomic and political incentives and initiatives — broad-based and long-lasting — created by the state and individuals as well, for good. The lengthiest of all, the epoch presented an even grimmer picture of Pakistan with no positive change such as the subjugation of curtain political party leaders along with downsizing democratic values. One of the Herculean tasks Shahbaz has to go through is providing ministries to the individuals having background of that particular theme. Pakistan is never going to be a welfare state — or appear better at least socioeconomic and politically.

The top general also told the Senate panel that there were no signs the Afghan Taliban would change that policy. "The Taliban has shown little interest in applying counter-terrorism pressure against the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), presenting a significant threat to stability in Pakistan’s border regions," General Kurilla said. Relations between Pakistan and Afghanistan have remained tense for many months as the Taliban regime has refused to act against the TTP. There has been an upsurge in terrorist attacks sponsored by the TTP since the Taliban returned to power in August 2021. Pakistan has been repeatedly demanding decisive action against the TTP from the Taliban government.

Nearly 130 years since the first three women were elected to state legislative offices in the US, women remain massively underrepresented in state legislatures. In 10 states, women make up less than 25 percent of their state legislatures, according to Rutgers’ Center for American Women in Politics. And those running in southern, conservative states — still mostly Democratic women, data show — aren’t winning as those states continue to overwhelmingly elect Republicans. In 2022, 39 women ran as their party’s nominee for state legislative seats in West Virginia, and 26 were Democrats. The Republican women received censures and promises of primary challenges in this year’s elections.
