The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), on Wednesday, received another batch of 175 stranded Nigerians from Libya at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos. Mr Farinloye said that the stranded Nigerians were received at the Cargo Wing of the Murtala Muhammed International Airport at about 11:58 p.m. He said that the returnees were brought back to the country by the International Organisation for Migration (IOM) through a voluntary repatriation programme. He said that the returnees were received by NEMA, along with other sister agencies such as: Immigration Service, Refugee Commission, Federal Airport Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) and the Nigerian Police. Europe and Libya share the Mediterranean Sea: Alexander the Great, the Greeks, Romans and even the Normans have all exchanged goods, culture and ideas with Libya. This is just one of many reasons why the international community needs to stop overlooking the chaos in Libya and help it become a functioning state again. However, Libya needs the support of the international community – and I’m not talking about financial support. This must change too — Libya needs to be disarmed.

Armed groups loyal to Abdul Hamid Dbeibeh have 12 hours to leave Tripoli’s International Airport as per the orders of the Turkish military mission present in the capital, a source close to the leader of the Turkish mission tells The Libya Update. The source, which requested anonymity for safety concerns, said that the mission’s leader Osman Aytac was gravely alarmed by the armed groups’ decision to go to the airport where Turkish troops and Ankara-back Syrian mercenaries have been present for a long time.
