Mr. Scindia on January 11 said five new airports will be inaugurated in Uttar Pradesh in one month that will take the total number of airports in the state to 19. Regarding Ayodhya airport, Mr. Scindia said the second phase expansion will start soon and that more flights will be connecting the city. A new study has sounded alarm bells around bottled water concluding that micro nanoplastics in these bottles could be far more than estimated earlier. With a staggering 2,40,000 plastic fragments, the bottled water has up to 100 times more microplastics than previously thought, said a new study. While the presence of microplastics in plastic bottles was previously known, the technology to better identify micro and nanoplastics was lacking. ED summons NC chief Farooq Abdullah for questioning in JKCA funds fraud case
The Enforcement Directorate has summoned National Conference president Farooq Abdullah for questioning on Thursday in a money laundering case, said official sources. The MP from Srinagar Lok Sabha seat was charge-sheeted by the federal agency in the case in 2022. The summons has asked Abdullah, a former chief minister of Jammu and Kashmir, to depose at the ED office in Srinagar, according to a report published by the news agency PTI. The 86-year-old politician is understood to have been called in connection with the federal agency's investigation into alleged irregularities in the Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association (JKCA). ED had claimed that in 2004 the then "duly elected Treasurer Mukhtar Kanth resigned and immediately Farooq Abdullah appointed Mirza as Treasurer of JKCA without holding elections as mandated under the JKCA Rules, 1957."

रीवा। जिला कलेक्टर के निर्देश पर एसडीएम हुजूर सुश्री वैशाली जैन द्वारा बुधवार को रतहरा बाईपास का औचक निरीक्षण किया गया जहां गुजरने वाले भार वाहनों से अवैध वसूली करते हुए चार लोग मिले जिनके विरुद्ध कार्यवाही के लिए मामला सिटी कोतवाली पुलिस को सौंप दिया गया है।अवैध वसूली के लिये जिस स्कार्पियो वाहन का इस्तेमाल किया गया था उसे भी पुलिस के हवाले कर दिया गया है। सफेद रंग के स्कार्पियो वाहन जिसकी नंबर प्लेट पर वाहन क्र. एसडीएम हुजूर के साथ दो नायब तहसीलदार भी उनकी टीम में शामिल थे।सुर्खियों में खनिज अधिकारी की कार्यवाहीजिले के खनिज अधिकारी की रात्रिकालीन कार्यवाहियां भी सुर्खियां बटोर रही हैं। खनिज अधिकारी ने शासकीय वाहन चालक के स्थान पर प्रायवेट चालक को सेवा में ले रखा है। हो सकता है कि उन्हें सरकारी से ज्यादा प्रायवेट वाहन चालक पर भरोसा हो? बताते हैं कि उन्होंने सतना से चालक आयातित किया है। खनिज विभाग की कमान इन दिनों महिला अधिकारी के हाथों में है। जिनका रात्रिकालीन 10 से 2 बजे तक हांका चलता है।खनिज के अवैध परिवहन तथा ओव्हरलोडिंग के नाम पर इनके द्वारा कार्यवाही कहीं की जाय परंतु अधिकतर वाहन विश्वविद्यालय थाने में ही खड़े कराये जाते हैं। चर्चा है कि रात्रिकालीन धरपकड़ दौरान अवैधानिक करार वाहन सुबह होने तक वैधता को प्राप्त कर जाते हैं। उन्हें वैधानिकता का प्रमाण पत्र भी राहत देकर प्रदाय कर दिया जाता है। सैकड़ों वाहनों पर कार्यवाही का प्रपंच रचा जा चुका है। कहा-सुना जा रहा है कि जिन वाहनों के मालिक संपर्क साधने में कामयाब हो जाते हैं उनको राहत मिलने के आसार गारंटी में तदील हो जाते हैं। खनिज अधिकारी की कार्यवाही जुबानी-जमा खर्च तक ही सीमित रहती है। सौदा समानजनक न होने पर ही कार्यवाही सरकारी रिकॉर्ड में उतरती है।लाखों का होता है हिसाब-किताबबताया जाता है कि विभागीय सारा कामकाज ऑनलाइन होने लगा है, टीपी तक ऑनलाइन रहता है जिन्हें खनिज परिवहन वाहनों पर कार्यवाही से पूर्व ऑनलाइन देखा जा सकता है। लेकिन यहां का सिस्टम जरा दूजे किस्म का प्रचलन में है। पहले वाहन को पकड़कर थाने में खड़ा करा दिया जाता है उसके बाद आगे की कार्यवाही में वार्ता का दौर शुरू होता है। वाहनों की चेकिंग, धरपकड़, निरीक्षण-परीक्षण सारे काम खनिज अधिकारी मैडम स्वत: करती हैं मानो उनके अतिरिक्त किसी को पावर ही न हो? चर्चा है कि प्रतिवाहन लाखों का हिसाब-किताब होता है।वाहन उनके ही रिलीज हो पाते हैं जो दोनों रूप से मजबूत सोर्स वाले होते हैं। या तो खनिज अधिकारी की मंशानुरूप उनकी खिदमत में पेश हो जायें या फिर किसी पावरफुल नेता की सिफारिश पहुंच जाये? अब देखना है कि रात्रिकालीन अवैध तथा सुबह वैधता का इंसाफ करने वाली मैडम का यह खेला कब तक चलता है?

The Central Board of Indirect Taxes & Customs (CBIC) will roll out an app to alert officials about timely disposition of tax appeals by tracking all cases under the litigation process, officials said. The initiative will greatly reduce the litigation time, CBIC officials said. The app was launched during the National Coordination Meeting held last month and will be formally made available to officials from January 15, officials said. “Our focus is to reduce the litigation time and this technology through the app will help to achieve this,” said the official cited above. When the department raises a claim against a GST payer, the latter can contest the claim at various levels, starting from the adjudicating officer followed by appellate authority (commissioner of appeals) and then can move to tribunals.

Pakistan's Supreme Court upholds death sentence of late ex-president Pervez Musharraf
Pakistan's Supreme Court on Wednesday upheld the death sentence of late former military ruler and former President Pervez Musharraf in high treason case, reports livemint.com citing media reports. Pervez Musharraf was sentenced to death by a special court under Article 6 of the Constitution on December 17 in the year 2019. Pervez Musharraf, who died on 5 February 2023, had made the ‘unconstitutional’ decision to declare an emergency in November 2007. Earlier on November 10, Pakistan's Supreme Court decided to hear an appeal by the deceased former military dictator against the special court majority judgment. The Lahore High Court (LHC) declared the verdict given by the special court as “unconstitutional" on January 13 in the year 2020.
