Beijing has opened its first private mental health clinic, aimed at breaking the monopoly of state-owned hospitals. A report from Beijing said the clinic in downtown Beijing is the first private mental health medical institution approved by the health authorities. It said the clinic was also China’s first mental health clinic to combine online and in-person services. A government official said on condition of anonymity that 15 mental health experts from major Beijing hospitals would offer medical services at the clinic. Reports say China has 4.3 million severely mentally ill patients on official record at the end of 2014.

HASSAN: A man shot dead his business partner with a gun and killed himself with the same weapon at Hoysala Nagar Extension in Hassan on Thursday. The deceased are Sharafath Ali (45) and Aasif (43) from Hassan. Aasif and Ali were sitting inside the car settling financial matters at the site which was up for sale. Aasif shot Ali with a pistol soon after the latter got down from the vehicle before turning the gun on himself. Sources said that Aasif and Ali had quarrelled over financial matters six months ago but had compromised with each other.

A video allegedly showing an old Muslim man sexually assaulting a minor girl has been widely shared online. Our ProbeWe noticed that people responding to one of the viral posts pointed out that this clip was from a 2004 movie called "Zahra’s Eyes". The same old man and the young girl from the viral video can be seen towards the beginning of episode 6 of the show. Going through the episodes, it becomes clear that the viral video shows a sequence where Zahra and her grandfather trying to escape from Israeli forces. Thus, it’s clear that visuals from a 10-year-old Iranian TV series are being falsely shared as a Muslim man sexually assaulting a minor.

The Patna High Court on Thursday scrapped 65 per cent reservation for Backward Classes, Extremely Backward Classes, Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes in Bihar. The Court has set aside the Bihar Reservation of Vacancies in Posts and Services (Amendment) Act, 2023 and The Bihar (In admission in Educational Institutions) Reservation (Amendment) Act, 2023 as ultra vires and violative of the equality clause under Articles 14, 15 and 16.
