'Blade Runner 2099' goes on floors
The upcoming Prime Video series Blade Runner 2099 has officially begun filming in Prague. The upcoming series is a follow-up to the 2017 Ryan Gosling-starrer Blade Runner 2049, which is a sequel to the 1982 film Blade Runner, directed by Ridley Scott. While Yeoh plays a replicant named Olwen who is nearing the end of her artificial life, Schafer will be donning the role of Cora, a woman who finds herself entangled in a conspiracy alongside Olwen. Silka Luisa serves as showrunner and executive producer of Blade Runner 2099, along with Ridley Scott. Jonathan van Tulleken, known for directing and executive producing the opening episodes of the historical epic Shogun, will helm the first two episodes.

हाईकोर्ट ने निचली अदालत के आदेश को निरस्त करते हुए कहा कि सिर्फ अंतिम बार अभियुक्त और पीड़िता को एक साथ देखा जाना दोष सिद्धि के लिए काफी नहीं है। इसके अलावा अभियुक्त के इस अपराध में संलिप्तता के संबंध में कुछ और साक्ष्य भी जरूरी है।राज्य ब्यूरो, रांची। Jharkhand High Court: झारखंड हाई कोर्ट के जस्टिस आर मुखोपाध्याय व जस्टिस दीपक रोशन की खंडपीठ ने राजमहल में छह वर्षीय बच्ची के साथ दुष्कर्म के बाद हत्या मामले में फांसी की सजा पाए राहत शेख उर्फ कलुआ को बरी कर दिया है।तीन-चार लोगों ने अभियुक्त को उस बच्ची को ले जाते देखा था। इसके अलावा घटना का समय एवं नाबालिग की लाश मिलने के समय का उल्लेख भी नहीं किया गया है।आरोपी की परिवार से नहीं थी दुश्मनीअभियुक्त और मृतका के परिवार के बीच सौहार्दपूर्ण संबंध थे। उसकी उनसे कोई दुश्मनी भी नहीं थी। आरोपित प्रतिदिन बच्ची को घुमाने साथ ले जाता था और उसके पास बच्ची की हत्या का कोई उद्देश्य नहीं था।राजमहल के पॉक्सो की विशेष अदालत ने राहत शेख को एक दिसंबर 2022 को दोषी करार दिया था और 12 दिसंबर 2022 को उसे फांसी की सजा सुनाई थी। सरकार ने फांसी की सजा को कंफर्म कराने एवं पॉक्सो की अदालत के आदेश के खिलाफ प्रार्थी राहत शेख ने हाईकोर्ट में अपील दाखिल की थी।12 गवाहों का हुआ परीक्षणनिचली अदालत में सुनवाई के दौरान अभियोजन पक्ष ने अनुसंधानकर्ता समेत 12 गवाहों का परीक्षण कराया था। घटना के संबंध में बताया गया है कि चार मार्च 2015 को राहत शेख उस बच्ची को शाम पांच बजे घुमाने शिमला पोखर मैदान ले गया था।जब रात सात बजे तक बच्ची नहीं लौटी तो उसके मां-बाप ने खोजबीन शुरू की। इस दौरान कुछ लोगों ने बच्ची के मां-बाप को बताया कि राहत शेख बच्ची को कंधे पर बैठाकर शिमला पोखर मैदान की ओर ले जाते देखा गया है। बच्ची के परिजन शिमला पोखर मैदान पहुंचे थे, जहां बच्ची मृत पाई गई थी। उसके कपड़े भी अस्त- व्यस्त थे। बच्ची के गले में चोट एवं काला निशान था।यह भी पढ़ें -Hemant Soren: चम्पाई सोरेन ने राज्यपाल को सौंपा इस्तीफा, हेमंत ने पेश किया CM बनने का दावाNew Chief Justice: झारखंड हाई कोर्ट के नए चीफ जस्टिस होंगे बीआर सारंगी, एस चंद्रशेखर की लेंगे जगह

St Thomas Day: Unified Holy Mass not celebrated in 80 per cent of churches
KOCHI: The Syro-Malabar Church’s latest diktat, calling for the celebration of at least one Unified Holy Mass in Ernakulam-Angamaly archdiocese, reportedly received a lukewarm response for Wednesday’s St Thomas Day service. According to Tenson Pullickal, executive member of the Mar Thoma Nasrani Sangham (MTNS) regional committee, those opposing unified holy mass made a mockery of the circular issued by Major Archbishop Raphael Thattil on Tuesday. “It can be easily said that the mass was not celebrated in nearly 80% of churches in the 16 foranes under the Ernakulam-Angamaly archdiocese. According to Fr Jose Vaillikodath, PRO of Athiroopatha Samrakshana Samithi said that the timings for the Unified Holy Mass were scheduled to prevent altercations. Also, the unified mode was not celebrated at 70 churches that are locked in legal cases.

Hathras stampede: Self-styled godman Bhole Baba continues to elude police net
LUCKNOW: The self-styled godman Narayan Saakar Hari alias ‘Bhole Baba’, who held a ‘Satsang Sabha’ in which 121 people lost their lives during a stampede in Phulrai village under Sikandrau tehsil of Hathras district on Tuesday, continues to remain at large, said the Uttar Pradesh Police. According to Hathras deputy superintendent of police Sunil Kumar, the baba was yet to be brought into the police net amid the manhunt which was launched on Tuesday night. "We did not find Baba ji inside the campus...He is not here," said Sunil Kumar. Bhole Baba, whose pictures with Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav are going viral on social media, has a sprawling ashram in Mainpuri, the native district of the SP chief. Late on Tuesday night, the Uttar Pradesh Police registered an FIR against Bhole Baba’s Mukhya Sewadar Devprakash Madhukar and a number of unnamed organisers.

THOOTHUKUDI: Following a theft at the house of an elderly couple, the Meignanapuram police recovered a note, reportedly written by the thief, promising to return the stolen ornaments and cash after a month. When Selvi visited the house for cleaning, she noticed the doors had been broken open. Over Rs 60,000 in cash, 1.5 sovereigns of gold ornaments and a pair of silver articles had been stolen, sources said. The police also found a note allegedly left by the thief, apologising for the theft. “A person is unwell at my house, and I am stealing the valuables to meet the medical expenses,” the note read.

नईदुनिया न्यूज, बिलासपुर। कोटा क्षेत्र में रहने वाली युवती को शादी का झांसा देकर युवक ने दो साल तक शोषण किया। इसके बाद वह शादी से इन्कार करने लगा। युवती ने पूरे मामले की शिकायत कोटा थाने में की है। इस पर पुलिस ने दुष्कर्म का मामला दर्ज कर आरोपित युवक को गिरफ्तार कर लिया है।कोटा क्षेत्र में रहने वाली युवती ने बताया कि दोस्त की शादी में उसकी पहचान भौवाकापा में रहने वाले समीर खुंटे (21) से हुई थी। इसी दौरान दोनों ने एक दूसरे का मोबाइल नंबर ले लिया था। दोनों मोबाइल पर बातें करते थे। इसका फायदा उठाते हुए युवक ने युवती को मिलने के लिए बुलाया। उसने युवती को शादी का झांसा देकर शारीरिक संबंध बनाया। इसके बाद वह दो साल तक युवती का शोषण करते रहा, बाद में उसने शादी से इन्कार कर दिया। युवती ने उससे मोबाइल पर संपर्क करने की कोशिश की। युवक ने उसका नंबर भी ब्लाक कर दिया। युवती की शिकायत पर पुलिस ने दुष्कर्म का मामला दर्ज कर लिया है। आरोपित युवक को गिरफ्तार कर न्यायालय में पेश किया गया है।

U.S crude oil: Industry data show huge decline in inventions
Crude oil futures traded higher on Wednesday morning as the industry data showed a huge decline in inventories in the US for the week ending June 28.
