Gucci has announced that Jin (Kim Seok-jin) of the K-pop boy band BTS will be joining the luxury fashion house as its global brand ambassador. Women’s Wear Daily broke the news, quoting Gucci’s creative director, Sabato De Sarno, who praised Jin’s ‘warm and kind personality’ and ‘unique style.’De Sarno added, ‘He is a generous and extraordinary artist who moves people with his music, making us even more honored to share this journey with him.’ Jin expressed his excitement, calling it ‘meaningful and thrilling to be part of such an iconic brand’ known for its ‘long-standing heritage and modernity.’Jin joins his fellow BTS members and other South Korean artists, such as NewJeans’ Hanni, Lee Jung-jae, Park Gyu-young, and Jay Park, who are also Gucci ambassadors.

Teacher axed for ‘molesting’ girl student in Odisha village
KENDRAPARA: A high school teacher in Rajnagar block was placed under suspension on Wednesday for allegedly molesting a 12-year-old girl student. “We investigated the matter at the school and confirmed that the teacher molested the girl last week, leading to his suspension. However, the victim’s parents chose not to file an FIR against the teacher,” said BEO of Rajnagar Chittaranjan Sahoo. “I could not believe that a teacher could do this,” the victim’s mother said. Corning, Telangana sign pact for skilling initiatives
The agreement was signed between a Corning team led by Ronald Verkleeren, Senior Vice-President (Emerging Innovations Group), and the Telangana Government team headed by Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy, in New York on Wednesday. The skilling initiatives would help Telangana youth become globally competitive, a statement from the Chief Minister’s Office said. Flow Chemistry Technology hubCorning will also strengthen its partnership and participation in the Flow Chemistry Technology (FCT) hub, a collaborative initiative of the Telangana Government, Dr Reddy’s Limited, Laurus Pharma Limited, and the University of Hyderabad. “The company is keen to collaborate with Telangana in developing and implementing flow chemistry technology, further solidifying the State’s position as a hub for innovation in the pharmaceutical and chemical industries,” it said. Corning’s pharmaceutical glass tubing facility would commence production in mid-2025.

Intel 18A chip production to begin in 2025
Intel has announced that its lead products based on the Intel 18A process technology — Panther Lake, an AI PC client processor, and Clearwater Forest, a server processor — have powered on and booted operating systems. The company also announced that the first external customer is expected to tape out on Intel 18A in the first half of next year. Through ecosystem electronic design automation (EDA) and IP tools and process flow, it offers RibbonFET and PowerVia to all customers through Intel 18A. With access to the Intel 18A PDK 1.0 last month, the company’s EDA and IP partners are updating tools and design flows to enable external foundry customers to begin their Intel 18A chip designs. RibbonFET and PowerVia are core Intel 18A technologies that enable greater processor scale and efficiency to drive AI computing, it said.

Mayor takes up surprise inspections
Mayor Gadwal Vijayalakshmi conducted surprise inspections at all the six floors of the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC)’s headquarters on Wednesday and checked upon the attendance of the staff, among other things. Following the instructions, the Additional Commissioner has written to the Additional Commissioner (IT) to arrange biometric attendance for the regular staff at GHMC head office. Another circular instructed the employees to register attendance by 10.30 a.m., with a grace time of 10 minutes. If an employee fails three times in registering the attendance before the grace period allowed, one casual leave will be deducted. Ms. Vijayalakshmi also issued instructions for the corridors in the building to be cleared of discarded furniture and old papers and documents.
