In the said video, one of the men raises a pistol, is heard saying: “last man standing” and he starts firing warning shots. Another of the group who was holding the camera asked rhetorically whether those viewing the video can see the guy and hear the gunshots. He posted the video on September 2021 while in his car without any reasonable excuse. Police said the video went viral on September 26 and was published by Adom FM online. This followed a Police investigation into a viral video that showed a man firing several shots of a firearm at the A&C Mall in Accra.

According to Kobina Tahir (KT) Hammond, once the Speaker is absent from Parliament or he is not presiding over the E-levy debate and subsequent voting, the Majority group would not get enough numbers to push the bill through. He indicated that, this will prevent further fisticuffs in the chamber since both sides of the House have 137 members each, and the only way to ensure there is order in the chamber is to reintroduce the E-levy Bill only when Speaker Bagbin is presiding. “If the speaker is not sitting and we have 137 and 137, how are we going to get the numbers? We (NPP) have our 138, Bagbin is sitting, there is no room for argument,” KT Hammond told Joy News on Thursday, January 27. The E-levy since its announcement by the Finance Minister has received public backlash from some Ghanaians especially Members of Parliament from the Minority Caucus.

In an interview with a Joy News journalist, Gomado said other pressing needs of his constituents was the reason he ‘diverted’ the funds. According to him, the issue of water provision had long bedevilled communities in his constituency and he found it more prudent to invest the cumulative sum of the loan and insuring it to support water provision. TWI NEWSAccording to him, he has already helped drill 41 mechanised boreholes from 2019 to date, together with partners from Saudi Arabia. The Joy News report added that as a cocoa growing area with bad roads, Gomado has mortgaged his four-year salary to get a grader to help reshape feeder roads to help farmers transport crops to market centres. He joins another NDC MP in the person of Francis-Xavier Sosu who is on record as stating that he had opted against using V8 as a matter of principle when his constituents are suffering from lack of basic amenities.

Speaking to the media in parliament, he accused the majority leader of creating problems with his entrenched stances. “Majority leader sometimes, he dreams because he sleeps in government bungalow. So if the majority leader says the E-levy has been passed, what are they engaging us for. Government should self-examine itself, he (majority leader) is the problem. He also wondered why the government is now engaging stakeholders after they had advised them to do so before the end of the last sitting.

In the case of Burkina Faso, the end for Christian Roch March Kabore, who was in his second term as President of Burkina Faso, out Kabore, in Paul-Henri Sandaogo Damiba. Until his 'rise' to the position of the coup leader, Damiba's last held post as a Lieutenant Colonel of the army was head of security for the capital, Ouagadougou (the country's third security region). He had only been handed that post in December 2021 by outgone President Kabore in a move analysts said was to retain the support of the military at the time. Damiba was on state TV when a spokesman, Kader Quedraogo announced that the government had been dissolved and the Constitution suspended. Despite a government statement denying the coup, it emerged on Monday morning that President Kabore had been arrested and taken to a military camp.
