The road connecting the two communities is currently engulfed with deep potholes and with some sections washed away by rains. The residents complained that parts of the road get submerged in water any time it rains, thereby hindering movement on the road. Speaking to GhanaWeb's Northern Regional Correspodent, Tahiru Mohammed Amin, a resident of Nantong Kpawumo, explained that they are always trapped in their homes any time it rains. He, therefore, called on authorities to come to their aid by fixing the road for them.

This is in response to a story carried by GhanaWeb on Tuesday, August 24, 2021, with the title, “Kwame Minkah blasts Abena Dapaah over clogged gutters, dirty Accra streets” but sourced from myxyzonline. In that story, the host of Tonton Sansan on TV XYZ, Prince Kwame Minkah, hit hard at Cecilia Dapaah, the sector minister, over the filth taking over the streets of Accra amid huge budgetary allocation for the sanitation sector. “The Ministry would like to state categorically that the publication is misleading and does not portray the actual facts in relation to the mandate of the Ministry of Sanitation and Water Resources (MSWR) which is under the leadership of Hon. “However, regarding the concerns about water shortages in some parts of Accra, the Ministry would like to state that some significant investments have been made by government through GWCL in that direction. “The implementation of the Greater Accra Metropolitan Area (GAMA) Water and Sanitation Project has improved access to potable water to over 420,000 people (equivalent to 85,000 Households) living in the GAMA.

Praising the decision to lift Kwabena Agyapong’s suspension, Nana Frimpong, further appealed to the rank and file of the party to recognize the latter’s immense contributions and political expertise. “Kwabena Agyapong brings to the table lots of political experience and know-how unmatched by his critics. "That notwithstanding, Mr Agyapong also worked so hard to ensure the party secures another term in office,” Nana Frimpong argued. A new account has emerged explaining the exact cause of the cancer – a bullet pellet lodged in the spine. According to the head of security in charge of operations at the presidency during Nkrumah’s era, Ghana’s first president got cancer as a result of a bullet lodged in his spine. “And you know grenades are poisonous, when it enters your body and is never removed, it brings in cancer, so Nkrumah died of cancer of the skin,” he added. One of the often-mentioned incidents is the Kulungugu bombing, in the then Upper Region in August 1962. 21st September is a day set aside to remember and honour Nkrumah and is observed as a public holiday.

According to deepthroat sources, nearly seven of the Tubular Gel VRLA batteries and four solar panels have gone missing. For the systems the thieves could not cut open, the batteries were spared, our sources added. Our sources noted that the high quality and expensive nature of the solar batteries could also be the reason thieves have targeted the installations. The theft cases have put the work of Mechatronic PLC - the subcontractor installing the water systems in jeopardy.

The party supporters according to a Daily Guide report are unhappy with the removal of their former MCE, Kojo Ofori Safo, who is to be replaced by Madam Akosua Asabea Annan. The group reportedly begun raging from Sunday, September 19, when the list of nominees was announced by the Ministry of Local Government. They are said to have besieged the party’s office at Akyem Apedwa on Wednesday and locked it up. The angry supporters also burnt flags and other paraphernalia belonging to the NPP to register their displeasure. A former Polling Station Women Organizer of Apedwa reportedly said “We are demonstrating to tell the President that we have ceased to work for the party.”There have been recorded incidents of demonstrations against the President’s nominees in some MMDAs.

ECOWAS recently suspended the West African country over the coup led by Colonel Mamady Doumbouya, toppling the long reign of Alpha Conde. This, Irbard Ibrahim said, was the right thing to do. “But today, Jerry Rawlings is no more; we’ve lost him. And again, I see intransigence on the part of the coup leaders because they are complaining [that] when things were bad, where was ECOWAS? Irbard Ibrahim also cautioned the ECOWAS, led by President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, to work at dialoguing with the military leaders rather than aiming to force them to succumb to a democratic process.
