Ethiopia achieved development on skill transfer from China
The successful transfer of knowledge and skills from China in the fields of science and technology is helping Ethiopia realize its development aspirations, an Ethiopian expert has said. The ETU hosts the Luban Workshop, which was launched in April 2021 in partnership with China’s Tianjin University of Technology and Education under the guidance of the Ministry of Education of China. The ETU deputy director-general also highlighted how the Luban Workshop facilitates the transfer of cutting-edge knowledge to the Ethiopian youth in particular and the East African country in general. “As an institute, our aim is to be a center of excellence in East Africa, and we have international students drawn from East African countries. Addis Ababa — Ethiopians in the diaspora are celebrating the 2016 Ethiopian New Year that started on the 12th of September. Ethiopians and friends of Ethiopia have celebrated the New Year at the Ethiopian Embassies in various parts of the world. Ethiopians in the United States, United Kingdom, Djibouti, United Arab Emirates, Netherlands, Japan, South Sudan and others have celebrated the 2016 Ethiopian New Year in various ways. During the occasions, Ethiopian Ambassadors in these countries have extended New Year best wishes to all Ethiopians. The ambassadors have also urged Ethiopians in the diaspora to further strengthen their continued support to realizing the multifaceted development efforts of the country.

Kefi Gold & Copper said only documentation and administrative matters remain, while it is addressing security measures to facilitate next steps in the field and ensure continuing stability. Shares in Kefi Gold & Copper were up 7.6% to 0.68 pence each in London on Tuesday morning. On Wednesday last week, Kefi Gold & Copper said it completed a 13,000 metre drill programme at Jibal Qutman in Saudi Arabia. Trenching and diamond drilling to identify additional resources was ongoing, Kefi Gold & Copper said, while metallurgical test work has been completed on oxide ore. Meanwhile, at Hawiah, Kefi Gold & Copper said the ongoing infill and expansion drilling campaign "continues to yield positive results".

Sir Harold Kittermaster, governor of the protectorate between 1926 and 1931, was given a golden robe and personal letter by Haile Selassie. Haile Selassie served as Ethiopian emperor between 1930 and 1974, and knew Sir Harold personally when he was the governor of Nyasaland, now Malawi. Antiques Roadshow viewers were left incensed by the expert's questioningReacting to the episode on social media, many viewers expressed surprise that the question would even be asked to the owners. A Muslim father in Maryland says Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS) is holding religious students "hostage" by refusing to allow parents to opt children out of controversial content related to gender. Kareem Monib, 45, is the father of four sons and has lived in Maryland for 20 years. Schools in Maryland must provide parents or guardians the opportunity to view all instructional materials before use. Earlier this year, a local Montgomery County city councilwoman, Kristin Mink, accused some Muslim parents of working with "White supremacists." They plan to expand beyond Maryland and set up religious councils while organizing parents nationwide.

World C’ships Silver Medalist Daniel Ebenyo, Rio Olympic Champion Almaz Ayana To Headline Vedanta Delhi Half Marathon 2023
New Delhi: Kenya’s 10,000m World Championships silver medalist Daniel Ebenyo and 2017 Delhi half-marathon victor Almaz Ayana (Ethiopia) will headline the preliminary elite athletes in the men’s and women’s categories at the 18th Vedanta Delhi Half Marathon, a World Athletics Gold Label Road Race, here on October 15. The USD 268,000 prize money will see tens of thousands of amateurs join the world’s best elites on one of the fastest courses in the world. Ebenyo, the World Championships silver medalist, who finished sixth in the World cross-country championships held in Bathurst (Australia) in early 2023 already posted a personal best time of 59:04 at the half-marathon distance last year in Manama. The timing is very close to the Delhi course record of 58:53 and hence is coming into the Delhi Half Marathon with high expectations. In the women’s race, Ayana will have major competition from her young colleague Betelihem Afenigus.

Mary Mishler
Mary Kathryn Mishler, 102, died Thursday, September 7, at Greencroft Health Care. She is survived by four sons, John (Phyllis) Mishler of Goshen, Robert (Carol) Mishler of Singers Glen, Virginia, Don (Nina Newburn) Mishler of Goshen, and Dennis (Pattie) Mishler of Brownsburg, Indiana; seven grandchildren, Nathan Mishler, Rob Mishler, Annie Springer, Mary Kathryn Mishler II, Jade Madrid, Jackie Brewer, and Andrew Mishler; three stepgrandchildren, Anna Parker, John and Lonnie Newburn; seven great-grandchildren, and three step-great-grandchildren. Dorsa and Mary helped to lay the foundation for the hospital in Nazareth, which remains in operation. Mary was an active and enthusiastic member of Prairie Street Mennonite Church for over seventy years. Our Mom, Mary Kathryn Diller Mishler, was a "force of nature."
