By Daniel LeussinkTOKYO (Reuters) -Dutch rower Finn Florijn Olympic dream was shattered after the young rower tested positive for COVID-19 on Friday after competing in the men’s single sculls race. “I wasn’t completely satisfied with my race, but I was hopeful to do better in the rematch,” said Florijn, whose father was also an Olympic rower. His case comes after a staff member of the Dutch rowing team, as well as two other Dutch athletes – taekwondo competitor Reshmie Oogink and skateboarder Candy Jacobs – also tested positive for COVID-19 earlier in the week. Pieter van den Hoogenband, chef de mission of the Dutch Olympic delegation, said they were doing everything to avoid positive COVID-19 tests. Before testing positive on Friday, Florijn had been staying in a room by himself in the Olympic village, it added.

When officers arrived, someone told them about the person trapped on the second floor and went into the building to try to get the person. "They tried to make their way to the second floor but were turned back by the heat and smoke," Dutcher said.

Specifically, the investigation is concerned with the policies implemented by some state Governors on how nursing home residents with COVID-19 are treated. Whitmer’s spokesperson Bobby Leddy addressed Nessel’s request on Thursday, noting that Nessel had previously refused a Republican request of investigation on Whitmer’s nursing home policies. In response to COVID-19, regional hubs were created in April 2020 by the state Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) for long-term care residents with COVID-19. In February, state Sen. FRAMINGHAM – After emigrating from Mexico to California, Jose Varela said it wasn't until he moved to Massachusetts that he had trouble finding authentic Mexican restaurants. “(In California), at every corner you’d see a taqueria or a little Mexican restaurant,” said Varela, who first moved to Hopedale in 1995 before settling in Framingham 24 years ago. Earlier this month, Varela opened his own authentic Mexican restaurant in Framingham called Tacos & More, at 80 Waverly St. Next to tacos, its menu also includes burritos, fajitas, taquitos, enchiladas, specialty skillets, omelets, salads, appetizers, hamburgers, pasta, subs, desserts and shakes. Varela, 55, previously operated the El Mariachi Mexican Restaurant – also in Framingham - which closed at 358 Waverly St. in March 2020 because of the coronavirus pandemic.
