Newsan President Luis Galli told La Nación that, “We today sell food products like fish, peanuts and honey, among others. This is a significant number because the last time that Argentina exceeded it was in 2007 (with 81,000 tons sold). Each year Newsan sells between 6,000 and 5,000 tons of honey and makes an estimated US $10 million from it. From January until May, Argentina has sold 32,000 tons of honey, which means it is set to smoothly recover from a slow 2015 when only 44,330 tons were sold in the whole year.

“We recognize the sense of anguish in the population, but we have to ask the social group that voted for us to make this effort, for us to be able to satisfy the country’s energy demands,” Aranguren said. According to Aranguren, users should still pay their bills if they can afford it, as eventually they could be refunded for any extra charges if they are suspended or restructured. The Minister’s remarks came on the same day in which the La Plata Federal Appeal’s court said that a final resolution on whether the hikes to natural gas decreed by Aranguren would be greenlighted or not will arrive tomorrow. In his view, “the way we were going, if nothing had been done then we were going to run out of energy. “Massa, Urtubey, Perotti are the renewal of Peronism, and there are new faces to accompany this process too,” Pichetto said. “I think what counts is to work every day, if it’s for something that you want,” Gioja added. The current chair of the PJ José Luis Gioja took aim at the former president’s recent spate of public appearances as being an easy way to help Fernández de Kirchner’s own image but not contributing to rebuilding Peronism. There’s a petition going around on change.org to name the new Santa Fé station on the H line after Argentine LGBT activist Carlos Jáuregui. The location of the subway station in question is relevant to Ferraro’s petition: it is situated on the corner of Puerreydón and Santa Fé. Santa Fé Avenue and its associated environs have been described as fundamental to the city’s LGBT history, and the subway station, that sits in the middle of it, could become a modern landmark to the neighborhood’s legacy. This August 20th will mark the twentieth anniversary of his death; Jáuregui died at age 38 of AIDS. The initiative, that was initially put forward by representative Maximiliano Ferraro, was given the thumbs up in a tweet by city the city’s mayor, Rodríguez Larreta.

It’s necessary to clarify this is not the case opened by the late Prosecutor Alberto Nisman, which investigated whether Cristina and Timerman covered up the role Iran could have played in the AMIA bombing. Just like with Nisman’s accusation, the case had been archived by Federal Judge Daniel Rafecas in 2015. Federal Judge Claudio Bonadio today upheld a request from family members of victims of the 1994 Argentine Israeli Mutual Association (AMIA) Jewish center bombing to be appointed as plaintiffs in a case investigating former President Cristina Fernández de Kirchner and former Foreign Minister Héctor Timerman for treason. In fact, the president of the Delegation of Israeli Associations (DAIA), Ariel Cohen Sabban, today also officially requested Judge Rafecas de-archive the case, but it hasn’t transpired whether he presented new evidence. Just in case you forgot what the Nisman case and the memorandum of understanding (MOU) are all about, here’s a brief explanation: In 2013 Argentina and Iran signed this MOU to conduct a bilateral joint investigation into the bombing.
