LOS ANGELES — When Lindsay Gottlieb thinks back to the start, her mind travels to a phone call 3 1/2 years ago. She had just taken the job as women's basketball coach at USC, inheriting a once-elite program that hadn't been relevant in a quarter-century. "That was a moment," Gottlieb said, "where it was like, 'Wow, we really got that kid. 5 Notre Dame in a marquee matchup on NBC, the network will debut the first episode of "On the Rise," a docuseries following — and produced by — Watkins. California Faces Record Rain And Flooding From Storm Severe atmospheric river brings chaos and threats of mudslides across Bay Area and beyondCalifornia has recently been overwhelmed by one of the most intense storms to hit the region this season, marked by record rainfall and widespread flooding. This volume of rain is particularly concerning as it saturates ground previously dry, increasing the risks of mudslides which can be devastating. While officials are relieved at the prospect of alleviating drought conditions, they also express concern over the potential for heavy flooding if rain continues unabated. States issued winter storm warnings, preparing for significant accumulations of snow leading to hazardous travel conditions. Predictions indicate the storm will continue to shift down to central California and may bring scattered showers over the upcoming week.

Former 49ers star Terrell Owens and current San Francisco wide receiver Deebo Samuel engaged in a war of words this week. "Deebo is not really playing up to Deebo's standards," Owens said during a recent appearance on 95.7 The Game in San Francisco. Samuel, who earned First-team All-Pro honors in 2021, apparently caught wind of Owens comments and issued a four-word response. He has recorded 490 receiving yards over the nine games he's appeared in this season. The normally dual-threat playmaker has just one receiving touchdown and one rushing touchdown this year.

The dog, a micro-Chihuahua named Pilaf, knows this, and Pilaf's owner, Demi Moore, knows this as well, though that doesn't mean she doesn't apologize and ask if you're OK with Pilaf taking liberties. "Sometimes I have a question that needs to be answered and I can ask that in my dreams," Moore tells me. Moore just posted a series of behind-the-scenes photos from her new movie, "The Substance," that may haunt the dreams of anyone following her Instagram account. If you've seen the movie — or the old-age prosthetics she sports in those Instagram shots — you know it gets complicated. But nothing was as harsh as what I did to myself, and that's why I think people relate to this movie.

"I'm not sure what color to wear," he says, nodding toward a rainbow of Calvin Klein boxer-briefs arrayed on a countertop. And that allowed me to pick some songs that might be a little bit esoteric, because I could explain them. He came to see us at Nassau Coliseum — came on his own, walked into the dressing room, said: "Hi, I'm Billy Joel. You ever feel pressured to get a little work done? I don't think it's healthy.

I always chuckle when someone in social media, or even in the actual media, quips about how the public has lost confidence in news media. With the advent of social media taking over, news became secondary to the public’s domain and reasoning. The study also found that similar proportions of Republicans (21%) and Democrats (22%) regularly get news from social media influencers. It was no longer a mistrust of the media, but perhaps the mistrust by the media of us. We have created a media in our own image of what we feel is the truth and what we want to believe, the "Media Extravaganza."
