“More than anything else, it’s a con job by the Democrats,” said Trump. AdvertisementIngraham asked Trump if affordability is a “voter perception issue,” rather than a real concern requiring new policy or stronger messaging from Republicans. The president, as expected, agreed with the former and doubled down on his attacks against the press. LOADING ERROR LOADINGSALT LAKE CITY (AP) — A Utah judge on Monday rejected a new congressional map drawn by Republican lawmakers, adopting an alternate proposal creating a Democrat-leaning district ahead of the 2026 midterm elections. Republicans hold all four of Utah’s U.S. House seats and had advanced a map poised to protect them. Gibson ultimately selected a map drawn by plaintiffs, the League of Women Voters of Utah and Mormon Women for Ethical Government. The Utah ruling gives an unexpected boost to Democrats, who have fewer opportunities to gain seats through redistricting. Republicans have argued Gibson does not have legal authority to enact a map that wasn’t approved by the Legislature.

LOADING ERROR LOADINGIn a late-night Truth Social post, President Donald Trump appeared jittery about a Supreme Court ruling on his trade war — warning that lifting the tariffs he imposed could cost the country more than $3 trillion. A day earlier, Trump said the losses from reversing tariffs — or an “unwind” — would be $2 trillion. Trump is likely to be unperturbed on his tariff agenda even if the court pushes back. When Trump returned to office in January, the average U.S. tariff stood at 2.5%. LOADING ERROR LOADINGWASHINGTON — A provision of the government funding bill that passed the Senate on Monday could give Republican senators a big payday over the government allegedly spying on them. Failure to notify would give senators a chance to sue. The investigation, nicknamed “Arctic Frost,” looked at the timing of phone calls by the lawmakers from Jan. 4 to Jan. 7, 2021. Spokespeople for Grassley and other senators involved in writing the legislation didn’t respond to requests for comment. President Donald Trump is reminding a lot of people of one rather famous villain after his demands towards the BBC. The fallout over the Heritage Foundation’s vocal defense of former Fox News commentator Tucker Carlson continued Monday. In an interview with CNN “This Morning,” Laurie Cardoza-Moore, a former member of the conservative think tank’s antisemitism task force, called for its president, Kevin Roberts, to step down over his remarks and argued that the organization has lost its way. “He did not clearly articulate what is happening with Tucker Carlson with these lies.
