It's been long overdue but our favourite Bandicoot has finally returned in Crash Bandicoot 4: It's About Time. Though we've probably had our fill of nostalgia with the superb N. Sane Trilogy and Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled, this is the first all-new title in the series in years. It's definitely been a while, but we're all glad to see Crash crashing and dancing and bouncing on our screens once more. The story ended with Crash defeating Neo Cortex, N. Tropy and Uka Uka, imprisoning them in the past. The verdictCrash Bandicoot 4: It's About Time has been a long-awaited follow-up to the main Crash Bandicoot series and the wait was definitely worth it.

An unsavoury pesticide sagaLocal news reports that Taiwan is to return or destroy a batch of a famous tea brand and ground chilli from Thailand because of insecticide residues look bad for Thailand, which promotes itself as the kitchen of the world. The cases reaffirm the fact that Taiwan maintains stringent food safety measures. This is because Thailand's FDA does not impose safety standards for this type of insecticide or several others. The state should step in and help in this matter and also make food safety a national agenda item. Thailand should also be able to boast about food safety, and that requires an all-out effort.

AG: Boss case has 'served as a lesson'Attorney-General Wongsakul Kittipromwong formally admitted the 2012 hit-and-run case involving Red Bull scion Vorayuth "Boss" Yoovidhya has served as a lesson for the prosecution to improve regulations governing the justice system. He told reporters at a seminar yesterday titled "New Dimensions of Public Prosecutors" that the prosecution faces "a crisis of faith" as police and prosecutors have come under fire for their handling of the case. We may have to improve regulations to better accommodate the administration of justice," Mr Wongsakul said. The panel's report recommended Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha revive the case, as it found evidence of intervention by government officials, law enforcement agencies, public prosecutors, lawyers and witnesses. In principle, only when the police chief or governor disagrees with the petition will the attorney-general step in and make a final decision, Mr Wongsakul said.

TOKYO - At a Tokyo clinic, a woman in a white coat carefully records the particulars of the newest patient: a sheep-shaped stuffed toy. She began treating stuffed toys four years ago in her hometown, northern Sendai city, after working at a clothes alteration shop where customers often asked if she could repair their treasured toys. "Customers saw stuffed toys as family members, partners or best friends, not mere objects. After their stuffed toys were fixed, many of them hugged (the toys), or burst into tears," Hakozaki said. "There are people who consider their stuffed toys as family members not only in Japan but also around the world."

City's history being lost to fake facade of beautyThe new graffiti on the walls along the recently facelifted Klong Ong Ang became the talk of the town so I decided not to miss out on it. City Hall wrapped up the artwork just in time for the recent Loy Kratong festivities. But I'm not sure if City Hall has expended too much effort in on the wrong things. The models, to be made of concrete and to stand one or two-metres high, would be placed around the five-rai Mahakan Park plot. What was the point of erasing a centuries-old community -- to replace it with a living museum under the dictates of City Hall?

Yet it provided a moment of inspiration for Nopparuj Sriratisirikul, a senior student at Chulalongkorn University who joined the protest in front of the German embassy. I wrote a poem to encourage them and call out to those in power," Mr Nopparuj told the Bangkok Post. His poem "III" was selected to be displayed among political art projects at Silom Road on Oct 29. The display was held under the theme of the "Art of Ratsadon" or "People Street Art". Not all protesters and artists who joined the street art event last Thursday were politically motivated, nor driven by angst.

Long overdue history reviewIf the Education Ministry has its way, the subject of Thai history in the Basic Education Core Curriculum will be overhauled, with the revised version available for the 2022 academic year. The history rewrite was welcomed by former education minister Somsak Prissananantakul, who yesterday said the revised version would provide students with a better understanding of political history and democratic developments as long as a process known as chamra prawattisat (clarifying history) is undertaken. In fact, there are parts of Thailand's history that do need revision, especially regarding the country's origin. More importantly, swathes of Thailand's political history, such as the Oct 6, 1976 massacre at Thammasat University and Sanam Luang remain hush-hush topics after more than 40 years. There should be no harm in having open discussions about this subject in particular and more information should be made available in order that this part of Thailand's history is clarified.

Klong Ong Ang Walking Street, the latest of its kind in Bangkok, was inaugurated during Loy Krathong Festival, however, it's not just another fair-style pedestrian street with lots of food and goods. Located along both sides of Ong Ang canal, from Damrong Sathit Bridge to Saphan Han Bridge, the walking street also features street art of various styles that depict the mixed character of this area which is home to Thais of different ethnic descent, including Chinese and Indian. The new walking street is a great enhancement of this area's existing charm. Klong Ong Ang Walking Street takes place every Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 4-10pm. Its northern end at Damrong Sathit Bridge is literally a stone's throw from Sam Yot MRT station.
