Come clean on Mor ChitLast week, a group of residents in Soi Vibhavadi 5 staged a protest against the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration for a land appropriation bid that will swallow their houses and property near the Skytrain depot, formerly the Mor Chit bus terminal, in order to accommodate an elevated road construction project. Previously, there were reports that Mor Chit bus terminal would be moved back to its old plot. Besides, confusion reigns after the Transport Ministry said it has no plans to relocate the Mor Chit bus terminal. The company has had big plans for developing the current Mor Chit Bus Terminal, because the present location has ample space for public inter-provincial buses without causing traffic congestion or pollution within local communities. In July, the Transport Company announced it plans to build an 800-metre skywalk which will provide a connection between Mor Chit terminal and the Bang Sue Grand Station.

Peter Sutcliffe, one of Britain's worst serial killers, had Covid but refused treatmentLONDON: One of Britain’s most notorious serial killers, “Yorkshire Ripper” Peter Sutcliffe, died on Friday aged 74, the government said. The hunt for the Yorkshire Ripper was one of Britain’s biggest-ever manhunts but police failings to catch him led to an overhaul of how criminal investigations are conducted. “It’s the victims that served the life sentence and then the victims’ families that really serve the true life sentence. Marcella Claxton, who survived an attack by Sutcliffe 44 years ago, told Sky News she still felt the effects. Richard McCann, whose mother Wilma was Sutcliffe’s first victim in October 1975, told Sky News he had “ruined so many lives”.

The former Democrat Party leader said attempts to amend the constitution still needed a clear supporting signal from Gen Prayut to move it through Parliament. “Frankly speaking, the charter amendment issue will go through Parliament if the prime minister gives it a push,” Mr Abhisit said after meeting with Parliament President Chuan Leekpai. Police were deployed to maintain order at the site and keep the crowd from entering the compound of a hotel where Mr Thanathorn had booked to stay.
