The body of the woman was moved to Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) for autopsy, where she was identified as Mrs Asad, resident of Attock district, they said. According to sources, a woman was crossing the railway track in sector F-17 and could not judge the speeding train coming from the opposite side. They said the woman died on the spot after being hit with the train. The locals alerted police about the occurrence of the incident which rushed to the scene and moved the body to PIMS for post-mortem.

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf leader Fawad Chaudhry on Saturday announced that the party workers across the country had been ordered to come out and protest against soaring inflation, saying that it was in Pakistan’s interest to go for early elections. Fawad said that even the release of funds from the International Monetary Fund could not help stabilise the rupee and bullion markets. Further, AML chief Rashid said elections were the only solution to the country’s problems as the incumbent government had failed and collapsed. Meanwhile, Planning Minister Ahsan Iqbal said elections would take place on schedule as one-third of the country was submerged. Iqbal said the federal government was restoring the confidence of international organisations in Pakistan and “it will bring back economic prosperity”.
