Lafferty's 2 SH goals lead Blackhawks past Sharks 5-2
SAN JOSE, Calif. — Sam Lafferty scored short-handed goals on back-to-back penalties in the second period to give coach Luke Richardson his first career win in the Chicago Blackhawks' 5-2 victory over the San Jose Sharks on Saturday night. Jonathan Toews also scored in the second period as the Blackhawks scored three times in a span of 3:14 to erase a two-goal deficit. San Jose was in good shape after the first period before a turnover and a shoddy power-play led to another loss for first-year Sharks coach David Quinn. Lafferty became the first Blackhawks player to score two short-handed goals in the same game since Rene Bourque did it on Feb. 28, 2008, against Dallas. Wilson helped build San Jose into a perennial contender during his 19 seasons.

Pakistan to seek rescheduling of $27b bilateral debt: Ishaq Dar
Share:Pakistan’s new finance minister, Ishaq Dar, has said that he will seek rescheduling of some $27 billion worth of non-Paris Club debt largely owed to China, but will not pursue haircuts as part of any restructuring. In an interview, Dar ruled out the possibility of a default on Pakistan’s debt, an extension of the maturity date on bonds due in December, or renegotiation of Pakistan’s current International Monetary Fund program. Some of this may come from reallocating funds from previously approved, slower-disbursing development loans, he added. Dar, who is participating in the IMF and World Bank annual meetings just over two weeks after taking office, said that Pakistan will seek restructuring on equal terms for all bilateral creditors. When asked whether Pakistan would seek to reduce debt principal, he said "rescheduling is fine, but we are not seeking a haircut.

Shehbaz mocks Imran for remarks he didn’t have authority as PM
Responding to former prime minister Imran Khan's remarks that the establishment was not with his government during the last few months in office, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Saturday questioned that why the PTI chief remained in power if he did not have the authority to make decisions. “Even I was the prime minister, but I had no authority over NAB (National Accountability Bureau).”He added that if he formed the government again, he would not accept this situation. ‘Establishment not with us’ during last four months in power
Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman and former prime minister Imran Khan on Friday said that the establishment was with his party when it came to power after the July 2018 general elections, but it was not with his government during the last four months in office. “When we came to power, the establishment was with us but in the last three to four months of the government, the establishment was not with us,” Imran said. “If the thieves succeed, the country will have no future,” he said, firing a broadside at his political arch-rivals. “This gang of thieves and corrupt has come to power to end their cases. “The lawyers have always fought for the rule of law, just like the great lawyers who led the Pakistan movement,” he added.

Grid failure sets off huge power outage
Sindh, Balochistan and some other parts of Punjab were without power for several hours on Thursday after grid failure shut down a number of power stations one by one in stunning fashion. Karachi, the economic hub of the country, also knocked out of the grid because of the NTDC system collapse. Power Minister Khurram Dastgir addressed a news conference following the massive outages in the country. The minister said the breakdown was caused by the loss of power on two lines. This resulted in the shutting down of the Thar coal power plant and Karachi nuclear power plant.
