Imran threatens to take to streets if govt ignores SC orders
Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief and former prime minister Imran Khan has said that if the government disobeys the Supreme Court's orders concerning Punjab elections, he will "bring the nation out on the streets". The PTI had organised an event for its workers to celebrate Eid at Zaman Park late on Sunday evening. Addressing the event via video link, the PTI chief expressed fear that the PDM-led government would defy court orders. "I can give a call [to the workers] to prepare the nation [for protests] at any time," Imran added. The PTI chief said that in order to manoeuvre the country out of difficulty, "the justice system will have to be amended".

So it’s kind of up to your own standard of how you want to work out. And she would drag me on a Sunday or on a Saturday or whatever — I didn’t feel like going for the cardio or whatever.

IceHogs Grab OT Win AGAIN, Advance in AHL Playoffs
The IceHogs journey in the AHL playoffs began with a dramatic, overtime win against Iowa in Rockford. Game Two — and Three, if necessary — would take place in Iowa; the first round of the Calder Cup Playoffs is a best-of-three format. So the Hogs were looking to “sweep” their way into the second round on Friday night; I hate using the word “sweep” for only two games, but it works I guess. David Gust scored the game’s only goal in the second period, and the IceHogs took a 2-1 lead to the third. And it was Buddy Robinson who came through with the OT GWG and Rockford advances to the second round!

Feng stated that the Chinese new democratic physical culture was to develop sports for people’s health, new democratic construction and the people’s national defense. Unfortunately, 1958-1966 was a period of political upheavals in China that dented the process of mass sports in the country. Sports officials were reappointed in the State Physical Culture & Sports Commission and the all-important National Physical Education & Sports School Conference was held in 1972. One can notice that the Chinese top leadership irrespective of its political stance remains steadfast in developing sports.

But what makes planning master is its implementation process, which is the soul of a master plan. Also, master planning is not a one-time activity; merely drafting one is not enough, it’s a thoroughly hectic and continuous process. Is Balochistan government doing the Quetta master plan as a temporary icebreaker for it makes a lot of noise, a name that sits and tastes well on the tongue and gets it some votes or is it genuinely concerned for the poor souls of Quetta. Fifth, the development of an institutionalized coordination mechanism linking the decision-making process of budget, infrastructure and development with land management.

A clear case of scamming the customers
A few weeks ago, I received a message from my mobile service provider that I have been assigned a certain ringtone and would be charged Rs3 per day plus tax. Since I had not asked for any ringtone, I was able to get myself unsubscribed after going through the procedure. On March 27, I called a friend and got an audio message that his phone was powered off. Since when and why have the service providers started giving unwanted services to their users without their consent? The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority should restrain all the service providers from adding extra paid services unless specifically requested.

Share:The Namaz of Eid Ul Fitr will be offered at around 1,000 places in Hyderabad including 115 big and small Eidgahs amid more than a dozen very large congregations. The police spokesman informed here on Friday that about 2,300 personnel would be deployed for security at Eidgahs, grounds, mosques and imambargarh. As per the security plan, the cars, motorbikes and all other vehicles, even the pushcarts, would be parked at least 40 yards away from the places of Eid congregations, he added. He said police would search all the places of congregations early in the morning before the start of the Eid Namaz. The spokesman informed that the police camps would also be established at the recreational facilities like Rani Bagh and Askari park which draw thousands of visitors during the Eid holidays.

In an alternate world
The way the process is mandated in the constitution and the Elections Act is optimised for same-day elections. Can a regular government, already in place, oversee national elections from the province where it sits? The same would apply if all provincial assemblies were in place but the national assembly dissolved. Alternatively, it may be considered that a provincial or a national assembly may never dissolve till completion of its tenure forcing upon it to seek solutions within. In its current form the constitution and the Elections Act are quite inadequately stitched to find wholesome remedies to emerging challenges in politics.
