PFF combines Election Physical Scrutiny, District Championships
LAHORE-The Pakistan Football Federation (PFF) has announced the integration of election physical scrutiny into the District Championships, a groundbreaking initiative endorsed by FIFA. PFF Normalisation Committee member Saud Hashimi emphasizes the significance, stating, “For the first time in Pakistan’s history, physical scrutiny will be conducted through competition. District Championships serve as a prerequisite for voting clubs, enabling on-ground assessment during the initial round matches. To accommodate over 140 districts and numerous teams, the PFF will organize a minimum of 140 District Championships in batches of 6-8 districts each weekend. The District Championships mark the beginning of a new era for Pakistan football, embracing proper, official FIFA football on our home soil.”

Friends of Pakistan shun India’s G20 meet in Srinagar
The meeting began amid clampdown in sensitive areas of the summer capital of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK). In Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK), meanwhile, protest rallies were brought out in various cities to denounce the Srinagar meeting. Rupee sheds 59 paisas against dollar
ISLAMABAD - Pakistani rupee witnessed 59 paisas devaluation against US Dollar (USD) in the interbank trading on Tuesday and closed at Rs 287.14 against the previous day’s closing of Rs 286.55. According to the Forex Association of Pakistan (FAP), the buying and selling rates of dollar in the open market were recorded at Rs302 and Rs305, respectively. The price of the Euro increased by 48 paisas to close at Rs 310.23 against the last day’s closing of Rs309.75, according to the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP). The Japanese Yen remained unchanged and closed at Rs 2.07, whereas a decrease of 27 paisas was witnessed in the exchange rate of the British Pound, which was traded at Rs 356.06 as compared to its last day’s closing of Rs 356.33. The exchange rate of the Emirates Dirham and the Saudi Riyal went up by 16 paisas each to close at Rs.78.19 and Rs.76.57, respectively.

4 charged with shoplifting in Trussville

According to the report, those charged were Lee Everett of Leeds, Ladante Howard of Birmingham, Cierra Morris of Birmingham, and Alandria Ruffin of Lisman. Individuals charged with a crime are considered innocent until proven guilty.

Seven PIA planes grounded for repair: NA told
The lower house of the parliament was told on Monday that seven aircraft of the national flag carrier have been grounded for repair while one airplane has been retired for good. Maulana Abdul Akbar Chitrali and Asiya Azim called attention to a widespread sale of ice and other narcotics in the country. Minister of State for Law Shahadat Awan said it was a provincial matter, adding that Sindh is getting 40% less water. He said Indus River System Authority (IRSA) member Punjab had given “an encouraging speech” in this regard. “All the provinces have got less water due to shortage of water,” he added.

AIOU announces schedule for Matric/FA assignments’ submission
ISLAMABAD - Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU) has announced the assignment schedule for Matric and F.A. The submission deadline for 1st and 2nd half course assignments of matric and F.A programs is June 23, 2023, and August 18, 2023, respectively. Students will be responsible for late assignment submission, and assignments reaching after the due dates will not be accepted. The schedule for submission of assignments for these programs will be announced soon. Students enrolled in these programs will submit their assignments online while students enrolled in Matriculation, FA and BA (associate degree) programs will submit (dispatch) their assignments to the respective tutors manually.
