Sindh Assembly passes resolution declaring

KARACHI:The Sindh Assembly on Saturday passed a resolution firmly rejecting any move to carve out Karachi as a separate province, declaring the city an integral part of Sindh. The resolution was tabled by Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah, who condemned what he described as divisive statements advocating the breakup of Sindh or the detachment of Karachi. Addressing lawmakers, Murad Ali Shah said Sindh played a pivotal role in the creation of Pakistan and noted that the Sindh Assembly was based in Karachi at the time. The chief minister stressed that the resolution solely aims to protect Sindh’s unity and does not target any political party or individual. He also referred to President Asif Ali Zardari’s “Pakistan Khappay” slogan, reaffirming that the Pakistan Peoples Party would never act against the unity of Pakistan.
