Nation will not forgive those involved in harming martyrs' dignity, says COAS Asim Munir
RAWALPINDI – Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Syed Asim Munir said on Thursday the nation will neither forgive nor forget those involved in desecrating memorials of martyrs and harming their dignity, making it clear that such acts will never be tolerated. The Army Chief stated this while addressing policemen and relatives of the martyrs of police during his visit to Police Lines Islamabad in connection with Youm-e-Takreem-e-Shuhada-e-Pakistan. Pakistan Army, police, and law enforcement agencies are symbols of the state and a defence line that does not hesitate in rendering any sacrifice for the dignity of the country and nation. COAS conveyed to the families of the martyrs that on this day, the people of Pakistan and the Pakistan Army stand and will continue to stand with the families of the martyrs of all the law enforcement agencies. Earlier on arrival, Inspector General Islamabad Police Dr Akbar Nasir Khan welcomed the Army Chief at the Police Lines.

The nation is observing ‘Youm-e-Takreem Shuhada-e-Pakistan’ on Thursday, to pay rich tribute to the martyrs who laid their lives while protecting the motherland and its people. The main ceremony of the day was held at the Pakistan Military’s General Headquarters (GHQ) in Rawalpindi. Separate ceremonies were also held at the Pakistan Air Force (PAF) and Pakistan Naval Headquarters. Several commemorative ceremonies are being held at the martyrs’ memorials to pay tribute to them. Earlier, military leadership paid rich tributes to the martyrs of the nation, who sacrificed their lives while defending Pakistan.

Economy shrinks from 6.1% to 0.3% under PDM govt’s watch
But the services sector -- the single largest sector in the economy -- showed nominal growth of 0.9%. All the institutions predicted the 0.2% to 0.8% economic growth rate. The economic growth rate during the last year of the PTI rule was 6%, which was further adjusted by the NAC on Wednesday to 6.1%. Last year, there was 6.1% growth rate - the end of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf government – which was the highest in four years. The NAC also revised the economic growth rate upward for the second last year of the PTI government from 6% to 6.1%.

However, our dad looked at the tree through a different lens: it was messy, the seeds could be toxic to animals, and it was invasive. The mimosa tree is just one example of many invasive botanicals (grasses, vines, trees, perennials) in Alabama’s landscape.

Auditions for the Springville Community Theater’s Musical Comedy Review will be held this weekend

Sri Lanka navy finds 14 bodies in capsized Chinese boat

The Philippine foreign ministry said the boat was located on May 18 about 1,000 kilometres south of Sri Lanka but that rescue efforts were hindered by bad weather. In a daring #SAR operation in Australian Search & Rescue Region, @srilanka_navy divers took on the challenge of exploring an overturned Chinese fishing vessel amidst treacherous conditions. The nationalities of the located bodies were not immediately known. By Crystal McGough, EditorTRUSSVILLE – Alabama Fallen Warriors Memorial Project founder Mark Davis was in attendance at the May 23 meeting of the Trussville City Council to give a presentation and thank the council for its support of the project. “December of 2021, I came before you to propose building the Alabama Fallen Warriors Monument at Trussville Veteran’s Park. These are the faces of freedom; this is why y’all built the monument.”Davis said that, unfortunately, the number of Alabama’s fallen warriors since Sept. 11, 2001, has now risen to 227. Davis also said he worked with Trussville Historical Society’s Jane Alexander to create a time capsule. “This project, really, was (Davis’) vision from day one,” Mayor Buddy Choat said.
