The IPCC states carbon emissions must fall by half by 2030 to preserve the chance of a liveable future, yet they show no sign of declining. Experts have been warning since at least 2011 that most of the world’s fossil fuel reserves could not be burned without causing catastrophic global heating. Next, where exactly are the biggest projects around the world, the so-called carbon bombs that would explode the climate? The Theatre Commander of Operation Hadin Kai, Major General Christopher Musa, has said the greatest challenge by the troops has been the use of Improvised Explosive Devices by terrorists. According to him, the deplorable state of roads in the North East region had enabled terrorists to plant explosives, adding that bad roads were slowing down their operations. He said, “The main challenge we are having now is the IEDs they plant on the way and run away. The government should just help us tar the roads.”Speaking on the increasing population of the terrorists, he said, “I can tell you that over 11,000 fighters have surrendered. This is a strange mentality to increase their population.”He said the terrorists had no permanent base and nowhere to run to due to the various operations being embarked on by the military.

The Guardian learnt that all the local airlines took off on the morning belt, though with fuel supply the only impediment to seamless operation. “In comparative terms, the aviation industry is already benefiting from government’s intervention when local prices are compared to West African regional prices, despite the deregulated status of aviation fuel. This situation is hardly sustainable given the already humongous N4 Trillion cost of the PMS subsidy”, MOMAN added.
