Food Insecurity in Nigeria At Its Worst State in Years

The food crisis in the country’s North-east, according to Mr Griffiths, is considered a challenge that requires urgent attention. Defilement of minor attracts life imprisonment — Delta PRO
The spokesperson of the Delta State police command, DSP Bright Edafe has stated that sexual intercourse with children under the age of 13 years attracts a penalty of life imprisonment. In his post on X, he stated,”A sexual intercourse with either a boy or a girl under the age of 13 years is defilement and the punishment if found guilty is life Imprisonment. In this case, consent is immaterial and such offences can’t be compounded. So going to court and swearing to an affidavit won’t work. By all standards, a child is vulnerable compared to an adult and as such he/she requires care and protection from anything that may occasion harm or threat to his/her well-being.

Borno Explosion: Security operatives arrest two female suicide b
Security operatives made steady progress on Sunday in their quest to prevent further destruction of lives and properties at different locations within Gworza after two female suicide bombers were arrested. Eighteen people were sent to their graves on Saturday when four suicide bombers set off improvised explosive devices (IEDs) in Gwoza, Borno State, the State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA) has said. Latest reports from Borno revealed that not less than 30 of the female suicide bombers were dispatched to Gwoza to wreak havoc with only four Improvised Explosives Devices (IEDs) detonated so far by the suicide bombers. Authorities have since launched a massive manhunt for the remaining suicide bombers who might still be lurking around after sneaking into Gworza from Pulka and Mandara mountains. Tinubu, US condemn Borno bomb attacks
