However, given the informal nature of their business, limited access to credit remains one of the most pressing issues. Financial institutions often hesitate to extend credit to PPMVs due to perceived risks, lack of collateral, and limited credit histories, hindering their ability to expand their businesses and invest in essential resources. “Empowering PPMVs with access to credit financing is essential for their growth and ability to provide improved healthcare services to the communities they serve. According to industry leaders, it is crucial for financial institutions to integrate technology in providing credit to PPMVs. Following the report of two recently confirmed cases of Anthrax in Lagos State, the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) and the Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (FMARD) have strengthened their partnership to check and control the spread of the disease in the country. Consequently, FMARD announced the Government’s plan to intervene to control the possible spread. To this effect, FAO Nigeria through the Emergency Center for Transboundary Animal Diseases (ECTAD) was requested to provide the technical and financial support to the intervention strategy, particularly on logistics to the start-off of the risk-based nation-wide vaccination against Anthrax. The joint field mission to Sabon Wuse was conducted by the ECTAD, FDVPCS and the National Center for Disease Control (NCDC), where a quick risk assessment was conducted, one week after the first animal died of the disease. Vaccinations have been carried out and other risk communication initiatives were deployed to avoid the spread to other farms and/or neighboring communities within 15 kilometers radius.

The manager made three changes to her starting XI in the Netherlands’ run to a European title in 2017 and two in their push to the 2019 World Cup final. In those tournaments, though, she had the luxury of not needing to change things, and two European championship titles and a World Cup runners-up medal were the result. Russo began the move that led to her opening World Cup goal, curling a sumptuous cross towards Hemp and Bronze. The assist for the second goal came from James but it was engineered by Bright, who intercepted the ball and drove through the middle before finding James. Hemp and Bronze, both a booking away from a suspension, made way, for Niamh Charles and Chloe Kelly.

As the Hajj 2023 comes to an end for Nigerian pilgrims, the Independent Hajj Reporters (IHR), a civil society organisation that monitors and reports Hajj and Umrah activities, has called for a quick review of this year’s Hajj operations with a view to taking proactive measures that will ensure a smooth 2024 Hajj. “We acknowledge the efforts and support jointly extended to the cause of the 2023 Hajj exercise by the Nigerian Hajj Stakeholders, especially the apex Hajj regulatory body – the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON), States Muslim Pilgrims Boards and Agencies, appointed Hajj Carriers, security agencies, para-military establishments, NGOs, and volunteers, in making 2023 Hajj a relative success,” the organization declared. The CSO added that it equally noted the efforts of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, his Vice, Kashim Shettima, and other diplomatic officials towards the success of the 2023 Hajj. IHR, however, advised that the challenges of poor services experienced in the 2023 Hajj must be reviewed and addressed with a view to avoiding similar unfair experiences. “Sentiments and self-interest should take a back seat in the planning of the 2024 Hajj,” the statement said.
