The Nigeria Customs Service has acquired a Cessna Grand Caravan EX-208B aircraft as part of its efforts to enhance its air patrol and surveillance operations. “Its ability to carry ten officers, coupled with its six-hour aerial endurance, will significantly enhance our capacity for air surveillance and border patrol,” he said. He added that the various features of the aircraft made it suitable for border security operations in Nigeria. He said that the aircraft was cost-efficient due to its relatively low operational cost compared to other aircraft in its class. This, he said, was through strengthening border security which would further send a clear signal to economic saboteurs that the service was better equipped to combat smuggling activities.
