DGCA slaps ₹1.10 crore penalty on Air India for safety violations
January 24, 2024 01:58 pm | Updated 10:45 pm IST - New DelhiAviation watchdog DGCA has slapped a fine of ₹1.10 crore on Air India for safety violations with respect to flights operated on certain long routes. The regulator carried out a detailed probe after receiving a voluntary safety report from an airline employee alleging safety violations of flights operated by Air India on certain long range terrain critical routes, according to a release. Since the investigation prima facie revealed non-compliance by the airline, DGCA said a show cause notice was issued to Air India. The safety report pertained to leased aircraft operated by Air India. "Since the said operations of the leased aircraft were not in line with regulatory/ OEM performance limits, DGCA has initiated enforcement action and imposed a penalty of ₹1.10 crore on Air India," DGCA said in the release.

Jammu News: जोजिला में सरपट दौड़ रही जिदंगी, बना ये नया रिकॉर्ड; पर्यटकों के लिए भी आकर्षण का बड़ा केंद्र
राज्य ब्यूरो, जम्मू। जम्मू कश्मीर को लद्दाख के साथ जोड़ने वाले जोजिला (पास) पर जनवरी माह में जिंदगी सरपट दौड़ रही है। आम तौर पर भारी हिमपात के चलते दिसंबर के अंतिम सप्ताह में बंद होने वाला यह श्रीनगर-लेह राजमार्ग इस बार जनवरी के तीन सप्ताह बीतने के बावजूद खुला है। इस बार मौसम की बेरुखी के कारण कश्मीर में अभी तक नाममात्र ही हिमपात हुआ है।साल 2023 में जोजिला छह जनवरी को यातायात के लिए बंदऐसे में सड़क मार्ग से लद्दाख में सेना, इंडो तिब्बत पुलिस के वाहनों के साथ सामान्य आपूर्ति वाहनों के माध्यम से नियमित तौर पर जारी है। यह अपने आप में एक रिकार्ड माना जा रहा है। पिछले वर्ष प्रशासन की अति सक्रियता की वजह से इसे छह जनवरी तक खुला रखा गया था। वर्ष 2023 में जोजिला छह जनवरी को यातायात के लिए बंद हुआ और 68 दिन बाद 17 मार्च को वाहनों के लिए खोल दिया गया।साल 2022 में श्रीनगर-लेह राजमार्ग 73 दिन तक ट्रैफिक के लिए बंदवहीं वर्ष 2022 में श्रीनगर-लेह राजमार्ग 73 दिन तक ट्रैफिक के लिए बंद रहा था। अगले सप्ताह बर्फबारी की संभावना के बीच संभव है जोजिला पर आवगमन में कुछ बाधा बने। कारगिल स्वायत पर्वतीय विकास परिषद के पूर्व मुख्य कार्यकारी पार्षद फिरोज खान का कहना है कि इस बार लद्दाख में नवंबर के बाद बर्फबारी नहीं हुई।यह भी पढ़ें: Srinagar News: 'सीमा पार घुसपैठ सुरक्षाबलों के लिए चुनौती लेकिन नियंत्रण में स्थिति', अवंतीपोरा में बोले डीजीपी आर आर स्वैनजोजिला से गुजरने वाले वाहनों के टायरों में लोहे की चैन लगाना अनिवार्यऐसे में सड़क मार्ग नियमित तौर पर खुला है हालांकि जोजिला के पास फिसलन होने के कारण लद्दाख पहुंचने वाले वाहन बहुत कम हो गए हैं। वहीं दूसरी ओर लद्दाख प्रशासन लोगों को निरंतर सचेत कर रहा है। लद्दाख आपदा प्रबंधन विभाग के अधिकारी आमिर अली का कहना है कि जोजिला से गुजरने वाले वाहनों के टायरों में लोहे की चैन लगाना अनिवार्य है।फिसलन के चलते काफी कम वाहन ही इस मार्ग से गुजर रहे हैं। यही कारण है कि भारतीय वायुसेना की कारगिल से लोगों के लिए कूरियर विमान सेवा शुरू कर दी है। जोजिला को खुला रखने की जिम्मेदारी रखना वाले सीमा सड़क संगठन का प्रयास है कि में जोजिला को वर्ष भर खुला रखा जाए।जोजिला पर्यटकों के लिए भी आकर्षण का बड़ा केंद्रऐसे में सीमा सड़क संगठन के हिमवीरों के सहयोग देने के लिए कारगिल जिले में नए विदेशी स्नो कटर मंगवाएं गए हैं। बर्फ में 18,500 फीट की उंचाई पर काम करने में सक्षम यह विदेशी मशीनें एक घंटे में पांच हजार टन बर्फ हटा सकती हैं। बता दें कि जोजिला बंद हो जाने से कश्मीर के रास्ते लद्दाख का संपर्क टूट जाता है। जोजिला पर्यटकों के लिए भी आकर्षण का बड़ा केंद्र है।यह भी पढ़ें: Jammu: लद्दाख को मिले राज्य का दर्जा, गृह मंत्रालय को भेजा प्रस्ताव; छठी अनुसूची में शामिल करने की मांग

Crude oil trades lower as global supply increases
Crude oil futures traded lower on January 24 morning amid an increase in the global supply of the energy commodity. At 9.54 am on January 24, March Brent oil futures were at $79.44, down by 0.14 per cent, and March crude oil futures on WTI (West Texas Intermediate) were at $74.28, down by 0.12 per cent. Various reports showed increase in crude oil supply in the global market. Market reports also said that there was increase in crude oil output from Norway. Meanwhile, data American Petroleum Institute (API) indicated decline in crude oil inventories in the US for the week ending January 19.
