They had an objective to use the business email to compromise fraud schemes which was to trick and deceive businesses into wiring funds into accounts controlled by the Enterprise. These fake email accounts were specifically designed to trick other employees of the company with access to the company’s finances into thinking the fake email accounts were authentic. The fake email accounts were used to send instructions to wire money to certain bank accounts and also included fake authorization letters for the wire transfers that contained forged signatures of company employees. That was when and how these head potters, commonly known as kayayei, mobilized themselves, one head pan or bucket at a time, and got water enough into the fire scene to put out the fire. When a fire tender from the Ghana National Fire Service eventually arrived, after the fire had been completely put out, the people who had gathered in the compound decided to vent their spleen on the officers. With that, they hooted at them, preventing the fire tender from gaining access into the yard. The fire destroyed among other things, documents, electronic appliances, and furniture. Watch how some of them reacted to the GNFS when they arrived at the fire scene almost two hours after they were called to come attend to the fire:

The group wrote to the Ghana Police Service informing it about the march in a letter on 30 June 2021. For the records, EI 395 was birthed on the strength of section 2 of the Imposition of Restriction Act, 2020 (Act 1012) and gazette on December 23, 2020. If the police was not meticulous and not preoccupied with petty partisan politics, it would have known that EI 395 expired in March 2021. In effect, there is no law as EI 395 to be adhered to. The government must work for the generality of the people whose taxes finance the luxurious living and wishes of a select few in the public service,” the statement added.

According to him, the current structure of the EPA has little impact at the local level and does not make the all-important work of environmental protection, which has become even more pressing in the face of climate change and growing air pollution effective. “I don't know any Assembly that has EPA directly involved in a lot of their operations apart from the building permit application process. Besides that, there is no specific engagement at the Assembly level which would ensure mainstreaming of environmental protection tenets in their work. Meanwhile, the Acting Director in charge of Environmental Quality at the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Mr Emmanuel Appoh in his remark stressed the need to develop an air quality policy for Ghana. I think academia, researchers, and local governments should play their part to scale up investments in this area".
