According to her, the exchange presently trades in grains only within Ghana and has 10 warehouses across the country which are being used to run the aggregation and storage of food products. Speaking at a press briefing in Accra on Sunday organized by the Ministry of Information, Mrs. Ivowi said there is a need to establish more infrastructure which can help in trading commodities such as vegetables. She explained that, the state-owned Venture Capital Trust Fund, is providing a GH¢5 million facility while the Rural Development Fund Ghana (RDF Ghana) has established a GH¢1 million credit line for soy and maize aggregation, with the potential to increase the amount to GH¢10 million to fund other commodities and brokers in the coming years. Meanwhile, she noted that the exchange is open to more public-private partnerships and there are plans in place to expand to other markets.

Regional News of Monday, 5 July 2021Source: GNAA project aimed at boosting the production of quality livestock and creating a market for a continuous supply of quality animals with high meat potentials has been launched at Bawku in the Upper East Region. The four are the Ghana Developing Communities Association (GDCA), the lead implementer, the Department of Animal Science of the University for Development Studies (UDS), the Pong-Tamale Livestock Breeding Station, and Livestock Dealers Association in Bawku. Speaking at the launch at Bawku, Alhaji Osman Abdel-Rahman, the Executive Director, GDCA, noted that the project would empower farmers in the livestock value chain including production, breeding, and fattening as well as preparation of quality livestock feed. The Project Coordinator noted that the two Municipalities had a comparative advantage in the production and sales of livestock than other areas and added that the project would develop the skills and knowledge of farmers in the livestock value chain to increase livestock production, breeding, and feed production. Mr. Charles Akwotie, the Bawku Municipal Director of the Department of Agriculture, lauded the initiative and said it would boost livestock production in the area, increase farmers' income levels, increase household food security and help reduce poverty.

Census officials from the Jaman North District who visited the community on June 28, 2021, were unable to enumerate a single household. Some of the residents who spoke to Ghanaweb revealed that they have taken the decision to boycott the exercise in the best interest of the community. They expressed their displeasure at the Ghana Statistical Service (GSS) for once again capturing them under the Jaman North District just like they did in 2010. Meanwhile, the Bono Regional Statistician, Mr. Amatus Nobabumah has told Ghanaweb that his outfit will continue to explore all available avenues to have the community enumerated as the boycott of the exercise will have serious ramifications on the community.

Upon the arrest of Kwame Dogyi and Obio Akwasi, they admitted to having killed the man of God in his home. The regional state attorney Mr. Quddus Salia who led prosecution said the convicts; Dogyi Kwame and Obio Akwasi, are cousins, both aged 21 and students of Tamale Technical University. The sprayer became suspicious and alerted the Police who went for the vehicle and later arrested Dogyi Kwame. One of the convicts, Dogyi Kwame lived in the same house with the murdered pastor and believed to have masterminded the robbery attack. The state attorney had told Starr News after securing that conviction, that more than five suspects are languishing in death row awaiting their death.

He stated categorically that the NPRA is coming after all defaulters. According to the Chief Executive Officer of NPRA, Hayford Atta Krufi, the NPRA's action to bring them to book is in accordance with the law. Since the NPRA took illegal action against defaulting institutions in July last year, a total of GH¢6.2 m has been retrieved from defaulting institutions. He, therefore, urged all employees to report their employers who fail to pay their pension contributions to the Authority for swift actions to be taken against them.
