Today in History: Dirty fuel saga: BOST, NPA sued

The suit, filed by Strategic Thinkers Network-Africa, was to pray the High Court to render a transaction involving the sale of off-spec oil by BOST to Movenpinaa Energy and others null and void. According to the plaintiff, the sale of the oil to Movenpinaa Energy and others were illegal and a violation of Section 16(2)(c) of the Page | 6 Public Procurement Act, 2003(Act 663) as amended by the Public Procurement (Amendment) Act, 2016 (Act 914)." Cited in the suit are the National Petroleum Authority (NPA), BOST, Managing Director of BOST Alfred Obeng Boateng, Movenpinaa Energy, Zup Oil, and Macwest as 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th defendants. An order of the Honourable Court setting aside the entire transaction on grounds of illegality and fraud.

Makola fire: Fire Service, Ghana Water PROs trade blame
The GNFS Public Relations Officer is convinced that his outfit discharged their duties to the best of their abilities but for the lack of water and the weak water pressure which the Ghana Water Company Limited had to answer for. Asked about the lack of water in water hydrants within the catchment area, he replied: “It is true but unfortunately, all the hydrants that we have in the central business district does not have the pressure required for fire fighting. You and I know that one percent of our water bills goes to Ghana Water Company Limited, so if water company officials are here, they can answer that,” he said. Family of 48-year-old man sues 37 Military Hospital for GH¢2 million

He narrated his brother was subsequently transferred to the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital for Inferior Vena Carver procedure after which he was referred to the 37 Military Hospital for the surgery. I had to calm myself down because I was so angry.”Unfortunately for the family, Asare-Kumah died twenty-four hours after the surgery.
