The poll which was conducted from June 28, 2021, showed some 637 votes represented by 19.53% were however satisfied with the security agencies handling of protest in the country. In all, a total of 3,261 votes were garnered from the poll. Already youth groups such as the #FixtheCountry, the Economic Fighters League have been in Court battling with the Police to give them the green light to move ahead with their protests. Chairman of the Landlords and Residents Association of Westhills City, Rev Wiredu Antwi, had noted a few weeks ago about blasting of rocks in the area which had resulted in tremors; causing destruction to properties. Speaking on GhanaWeb’s #SayItLoud, Rev Antwi noted that although it appeared the manufacturing company had permit for their activities, they were operating outside the remits assigned. He lamented about poor and reckless driving of heavy-duty trucks on feeder roads usually leaving clouds of dust in their wake. Rev Wiredu noted that there is usually no warden to direct these cars and as a result, the lives of young people and other residents are in constant danger. The Chairman of the Westhills City Landlords and Residents Association again disclosed that the plastic producing component of Sunda was in the habit of indiscriminately burning their waste products openly, much to the chagrin of the residents.

The loan facility, the Committee's report explained is aside a US$100 million and US$130 million loans taken from the World Bank back in 2020. “This is aside US$100 million and US$130 million loans taken from the World Bank for the COVID-19 Emergency Preparedness Plans 1 and 2 in 2020,” the report said. Additionally, portions of the loan from the World Bank will also go toward supporting vulnerable groups in society.

The two are the Ashanti Regional Minister, Simon Osei-Mensah and Erastus Asare Donkor, a journalist who shot the viral video of the shootings. Simon Osei-Mensah made the first appearance and mounted a spirited defence of his decision to order army personnel to the community. He claims to have received intel and did not have enough time to convey a Regional Security meeting on the intel as required by law. He saw nothing wrong with his unilateral decision to engage the service of army personnel contrary to what the law as pointed out by the committee members state. He dismissed suggestions from a member of the committee that the media could have exaggerated the incident.

Asked whether he was concerned about the security situation in Ghana as has played out recently, he replied: “very concerned, about the media. I have always said that if Ghana will go to war, if Ghana will be destroyed; it will be from the media. “I’m surprised NDC ‘gat’ nerves to go on demo talking about security, they gat nerves; but you know, we have to tolerate them because it is about politics. The atrocities committed by these people in this country, they gat nerves,” a bewildered Agyapong added.
