She said she heard noises outside and decided to approach and see what was happening and that is when she saw Kaaka's brother dragging him on the floor. She said she knocked at the door of Kaaka's wife to inform her about what was happening. Saida also said she was afraid to tell the family when Kaaka died because she is a woman and her husband was not around. Saida Fuseini also told the committee that there has been bad blood between her and the late Kaaka's family because she testified at the police station, which resulted in Iddi's arrest.

He said protests and demonstrations are issues which a nation cannot do away with, but proper means of handling the situation is what is important to prevent any deaths. He also noted that many protests happen across the globe but such fatalities are not recorded hence the need for the police to develop newer ways of handling protests. “What the security agencies should begin to understand is how to deal with that kind of expression of dissatisfaction. It probably even requires different personnel to deal with those kinds of expressions than we are used to, there are countries with lots of protests happening every day but they don’t record these kinds of fatalities,” he said. Responding to whether the country is handling the aftermath of the protest properly, Dr. Asante said stakeholders need to be constructive and come out with the best recommendations.

According to the Public Relations Officer of the Greater Accra Regional Police Command, DSP Efia Tenge, the food was presented to the prisoner by a 23-year-old with a Nigerian accent at about 4:45pm on Sunday, July 11, 2021. She stated that the police officer on duty, after receiving the food and thorough checks, identified the weapons and foiled the attempts by the lady to smuggle them to the prisoner. The 23-year-old who presented the food managed to flee the scene. But DSP Efia Tenge said measures have been put in place to trace and arrest her.

It is, however, unclear if final year students who sat for the exams in 2020 received the mathematical sets. Mr Gyamfi noted that: “It seems the only thing that moves this government is demonstration…immediately drivers decided to join 'kum yen preko' to protest against the luxury tax…Finance minister announced that the luxury tax will be reviewed. The same thing applies to Menzgold issue." Participants of the protest cited unbearable economic hardship and oppression experienced under the current Akufo-Addo administration as reasons for the demonstration. Despite this, the IEA has warned that global oil markets are likely to remain volatile following a breakdown in talks between OPEC members and their non-OPEC allies. “Oil markets are likely to remain volatile until there is clarity on OPEC+ production policy. And volatility does not help ensure orderly and secure energy transitions — nor is it in the interest of either producers or consumers,” the IEA said.
