"The Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, is not happy about the bloodshed and destruction of properties that has happened in Ejura. The Asante Manponghene, Daasebre Osei Bonsu, is also worried about the unfortunate situation in Ejura," the report said. Ejura falls under the jurisdiction of the Asantehene, where the Ejurahene serves under the Asante Mamponghene, who is also the occupant of the Silver Stool of Asanteman.

The currency which is known as the e-cedi is expected to operate in a sandbox interim and hinged on advancing financial inclusion and facilitating trade towards a cash-lite economy. First deputy governor of the Bank of Ghana, Dr Maxwell Opoku-Afari, providing details at a workshop for Business Journalists said the digital currency when fully adopted will outline the use of other digital currencies. “Digital Currency is part of the central bank acknowledging the need for digital payment and digital delivery of financial services. By this, the Bank of Ghana will provide a platform on which we can add more value to digital transactions,” Dr Opoku-Afari said.

Reports from Graphic disclosed that the Form Two student, name withheld, has been handed over to the police for investigation. Based on a recent fire recorded on June 23, 2021, authorities of the school set up a Committee to investigate the unfortunate incidents at the school. The student who explained that he was forced to enroll at Accra Academy confessed that he secretly set the dormitory on fire intending to close down the school. In January 2021, GhanaWeb reported on a fire incident at one of the new dormitories at Accra Academy which destroyed several properties including food items, trucks, books, chop boxes, mattresses among other valuables.

He noted that the Ghana Card already has an electronic passport on it which is valid for West African travels. He said discussions have been held with the Foreign Affairs Ministry and the National Information Technology Agency (NITA) concerning this new development. This follows the successful merging of the Social Security and National Insurance Trust (SSNIT) database with the National Identification Authority (NIA) on June 28, 2021.

Speaking at a ceremony in Accra to open the online portal for the District level Scholarship Application Scheme, Kingsley Agyemang also announced that the government has allocated 85 million cedis worth of scholarship to the 55,000 beneficiaries, which will include applicants through the online District Level Scholarship Scheme. The District Level Scholarship Scheme, which commenced last year, is a digital initiative by the government to decentralise the scholarship application process and also to make the process accessible to needy students at the local level through online portals. Through the innovation, thousands of students were able to apply for scholarships successfully through the online portal from their local communities without travelling to Accra. Speaking on the innovative online application portal, Kingsley Agyemang commended Vice President Bawumia for the idea, and also highlighted its benefits to thousands of beneficiaries.
