It ascertained types of nursery models existing, women and youth perspective and interest in operating nurseries and local innovations in relating to crop/tree nurseries, Dr. Mrs. Derkyi added. Dr Mrs. Derkyi said project partners comprises Royal Tropical Institute, Alliance of Biodiversity International and International Centre for Tropical Agriculture (CIAT), Cocoa Research Institute of Ghana and the World Cocoa Foundation. She said the field findings touched on communities and their perspective of nurseries, developments affecting crop/tree nurseries, opportunities and gains, challenges and pains of operating crop/tree nurseries and usage of nursery products and services.

Four people have lost their lives in an accident that occurred on the Kintampo road on Tuesday, June 29, 2021. The mate noted that his 'master' did not see the speed ramp because he was trying to open a bottled drink while speeding. According to the report, the marginal increment in prices is due to the increasing price of crude oil on the international market. The expected increment, which comes despite the local currency having remained relatively stable against the dollar, is likely to affect transport prices and cost of goods and services. Meanwhile, the Oil Marketing Companies are yet to determine whether it will absorb the projected fuel price increment. Market watchers have also projected that fuel prices will hit peak levels should government not offer fuel subsidies.

In 2011, Agyekum’s song with Sarkodie titled, ‘Ohohuo Asem’ - to wit, the plight of a stranger - became an anthem owing to the message, instrumentation and delivery. Eight years after the song leaked in the public domain, Agyekum pleaded with Hammer to bless him with a music video. According to Hammer’s narration, “two months after the video, Agyekum fell ill in NkawKaw, where he was based”. I’ve shelved the video for two years; it was fully done.”The revelation came after George Quaye had inquired from Hammer the reason behind his decision to not release the music video. Ibrahim Mohammed who was widely known as Macho Kaaka died whiles on admission at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital after he was attacked by some unknown persons on June 25, 2021. His death has triggered chaos in the town with the youth clashing with the military and police officers. It is being reported that three persons have died in the clash with several others sustaining injuries. The unemployed young man, according to myjoyonline took monies from victims to help them get recruited into the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF). He was charged with pretending to be a public officer and charlatanic advertisement when he appeared before the Accra Circuit Court. The accused person is expected to reappear before the court Tuesday, June 29. The prosecution, led by Detective Frederick Sarpong noted that the complainant (Ken Ofori-Atta) in May reported the accused person to the police. The police launched an investigation into the matter and got the accused person arrested in his house.

Ahead of this, government has said it will intensify public education on the subject to deepen public understanding and appreciation of nuclear power.

In an interaction with Business24.com.gh monitored by GhanaWeb, Executive Secretary of the Association, Sam Aggrey, explained that insuring imported goods with local companies should be optional rather than mandatory as required by Act. “When the goods reach, for instance, Tema, because you have insured the goods from the foreign origin, it is only appropriate that it ends there, unless you want to insure the goods through a local insurance agent to its final destination or warehouse. "But what the government is saying is that, even if you are importing from, say, United Kingdom, the local insurance company must insure the goods from its foreign origin to the local port,” he added. He continued, “Even if the local insurance company has a foreign agent from the importing country and I want to insure my goods to Ghana, it should still be optional, not compulsory.

Now you know, for example, that VW from Germany has come to do some manufacturing and will be exporting to neighbouring countries,” Mr. Nyame-Baafi added. Already government has introduced the Industrial Transformation Agenda which is hinged on developing key growth sectors of the economy such as the automobile, pharmaceutical, petrochemical, industrial starch, bauxite, iron and steel industries, all in a bid to enhance export trade.

The grants, according to Dr. Awal Mohammed is expected to assist tourism practitioners in keeping their business afloat in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic. Addressing journalists following a visit to some tourism facilities in Accra on June 28 2021, Dr. Awal revealed the country’s tourism sector lost about GH¢8 billion of its revenue due to the pandemic in 2020. “It is in this vein that the government from next week, will begin the disbursement of GH¢55 million grant to stakeholders in the sector to help revamp their businesses,” Dr. Awal said. According to the World Travel and Tourism Council (WTTC) the sector has suffered huge losses as travel restrictions were in place throughout 2020 owing to the coronavirus pandemic. The Council said the tourism and hospitality space has since witnessed a near loss of US$4.5 trillion owing to coronavirus travel restrictions, a drop in consumer demand and border closures.
